It's really easy to do an exhaust install especially if it's a TBE. Hit the main bolts with a torch for a few minutes if they're stuck and detach. I've done at least a dozen of them and the only difficult one was a header and catback on a 5.0. That was 6 hours of pain and misery because my friend wanted to salvage the stock rusted on headers. After 5 hours of hell and some less than gentle persuasion, the sawzall came out and half an hour later he was on his way.

Well guys good and bad news. I was able to pick up my Valve Cover and Cusco Power Brace from JNZ today. Color came out perfect!! So I went home and installed them along with all of the other Misc. brackets, tubing, wiring....etc. I got her all back together and took a ride up to the Ross meet in Montgomeryville which was nice. Car feel really strong. I don't know if it's just me but I really feel like I can tell a difference in throttle response with the new TB. I actually forgot how fast this car was.........hit the rev limiter twice...hahaha lol!!! Now on to the bad. I get home and pop the hood to make sure everything is good and of course it wasn't. I had a light mist of oil that got sprayed onto a couple of things including the hood. It looks like it may be coming from the valve cover and it's getting flung around once it hits the cam gears. I double checked with the mechanic before I left for any tips on installing the valve cover without having this exact problem and he just said to hit the "humps" at either side of the head where the ends of the cams are with some RTV Sealant. Well I did that but I still have a leak. It's too dark to really see anything now so I'll check things over tomorrow. As for the valve cover, I retightened all of the bolts after the car cooled down. I'm worried since it's magnesium. I don't want to break anything.

IMPORT JUNKY

I saw your car roll through the Ross meet, my buddy was like that thing sounds stock, I'll race it"

I remembered the car from some pics and your sig and I told him "I can assure you it's not stock" He laughed and goes "No ****, I can tell it has cams from over here" Looks clean!

Hahah... Before I read the rest of your post I was already thinking "was that guys serious"? I seem to get a lot of head turns when I roll up. It sounds nice inside the car. Never heard it from outside the car. I like the FP4Rs. I think they're under-rated. I'll have to catch up with you at one of these meets.

Actually you weren't Ryan, lol. Skip back a few pages, I was the first one to answer his post, I thought about it for a second, hahah

Jim, did you use a new valve cover gasket when your reinstalled the cover. also, i do recall reading about putting RTV sealant somewhere. Try a new gasket and torque down to spec, should be good.

That sucks Jim, I know you'll get it figured out though. It is always nice to get behind the wheel of the Evo after driving the other car for a few days. I always feel like superman on the road.

Your car has a great sound when it's idling...

I was eyeing those things up, but I wasn't sure what it would be like to try to drive in the rain as they have no real depth.

Would have liked to met up with you again at Ross but i was working on cars all day and by the time 9pm rolled around i realized i never ate anything all day and still wanted to finish what i was doing in my garage.
Sucks about the oil issues but hopefully you can get it squared away and we can meet up at Ross next week. I can't wait to check the car out. Hopefully you can take me for a spin one of these days after you get everything straightened out.

o and by the way, i can't wait to hear the fp4r's. There a great cam from what I've read doing research, and probably sound nasty.
