SORRY FOR THE DIRTY EVO!!!! It's been sitting out in all of this weather since I don't have a cover for it yet. Oh yeah, almost forgot..........the valve cover is still leaking Looks like I'm going to have buy a new valve cover gasket. Just my freak'n luck. People pull these things off all of the time with out replacing them and of course I'm one of the unlucky ones. That's what I get for trying to be different.

 

I know a guy that takes care of dirty cars....

I definately wanted to talk to you about your services but I feel like it's not worth it. What I mean is that the front bumper and hood are so chewed up that I would hate to pay you to do the work only to be dissappointed everytime I see all of the nasty chips and gashes. My front bumper feels like a cheese grater and the hood looks like a clear summer night sky when all of the stars are out. Too many chips to count. Maybe when I bump into you I can have you look at my car and see what you think. I eventually want to get the whole front end fixed and repainted or just do a full repaint.

 

I see, I did an Acura RL with a BEATEN front end. I can link you to show you the work I did on it that probably compares to what you're describing. It didn't come out perfect, but it didn't jump out at you either. Front bumper felt like sandpaper, hood had similar damage as well. It's a lot cheaper than a paint job

When you said purple it sounded a little weird but that looks awesome. The contrast to the black is great. I do custom powdercoating myself and Ive never been happy with a color I picked until I found the black chrome but my vc still isnt 100%(needs a darker coat). That was a perfect choice.

 

I forgot to add something. Smear a little rtv all along the gasket on the side tgat makes contact with the head. Make sure there is no oil on it first or on the head. Then reinstall let it dry overnight and give it a try. Ive managed to reuse all but the most dry rotted gasket temporarily until a new one arrived.

You guys should check your cabin air filter. I changed mine for the first time today (25k miles) and it was nasty. The filter was black and had leaves and dust all over.

I've been meaning to do this for awhile. I'll be changing it soon. Starting to smell stale in mine. I don't ever leave any for or garbage....etc. in my car so I'm thinking it's the cabin filter. I've got 57k on mine and I've never changed it.

 

Signs will be posted for any of you final lookers. Take route 3 to providence and you'll see signs on the way to the meet. Good luck!

pete, damn im gona for a couple hrs and miss 3 pgs of posts. alright chu ill give credit where credit is due. nice spot. i still cant believe i bought them, such an unnecesary expense at this point but i simply couldnt pass up that deal. they do have a few wear marks from being the front tires but ill swap them in the back and be good to go. im just buying left and right now its not good.

pete, yea im hoping to improve on the next autoX. my goal is to learn the course slow then take it fast. hopefully the nittos will help. my main purpose in having those is to not scrub the crap outta the re-01rs like last time. absolutely killed them and need those for the daily.

i already ordered those wheels so im just waiting on petey to set it up and we will be good to roll! there gona look so good i think

btw whats everyone doing this coming sunday? trying to do something like grab some burgers and some beer and kick it...

I figured that's your car when Chau told me there was a guy from the police station that drives an evo and likes to stop other evos to see what they have LOL. I hope that you can look out for my car if something ever happens(knock on wood) not that I would want anything to happen. Do you drive by my block a lot??

 

Jim, to be quite honest, the purple isn't what I imagined. So as your friend , I will trade you my valve cover and cusco brace so you can go back to the OE colors...deal? hhaah, car looks great man!

 

haha....ok. I'll consider trading you. I'm sure you could rock purple better than me. I think the color is sweet!!! I just walked by the car again this morning and it's definately a lot more purple than the pics show. I can't wait to get the tubular man in there so it can look like something worth showing off.. I was going to wait on an intake manifold but it looks like I might get it sooner than later. I have "Scottyo" offering me more than my asking price on the double din kit and headunit so we'll see. He's a pretty cool guy. Don't know if you know who he is but I met him in Georgia a couple of years ago at NOPI. He's a professional BMX Rider who travels on the Mountain Dew Tour.
