Philadelphia Car Meets
Mitsubishi's paint sucks. Especially on the plastic components. I'd love to learn to paint well so I can fix my bumper and sideskirts. They chip off if you just look at them wrong.
Well on the paint issue....
I need a good body shop, one that can be trusted to do real quality work. When it comes to this type of thing I will not settle for anything less than what I am paying for and should receive.
But as all you other tb owners know, if I'm going to bring the car in to get the bumper lined up properly again, I need to respray it and might as well have the hood done too, cuz I swear there is more white shining through from the primer than actual black paint. The big thing here though is if I'm doing the work I might as well get the nose chop done pending that it won't result in some crazy expenses.
Any references are appreciated, I've already got in contact with matt and have the number from the guy who did his nose job, just haven't heard back from him yet.

Try getting in touch with Bobby Brown at Del Chevy in Paoli. He does AWESOME work, and is reasonable in his pricing. Not CHEAP, but reasonable, and the quality you will get will really impress you. His work is worth much more than what you get charged.
So I sold my double din/headunit. I already made my purchases from the money I got. Here's what I bought.
Gruppe-s 52mm Triple Gauge Panel
Radio Relocation Kit
ProSport 60psi Premium Boost Gauge
Ingalls Torque Dampner
Blox Roll Stopper (Front Engine Mount)

nick my X looked like that after the first wash. after being at the body shop for a fix, they compounded down the whole thing when they detailed it (i think). there are some horrible spots on it and i will probably end up getting it all repainted somewhere down the line.
Agreed, there is a chip on the side skirt of this X, the wing as well as the Bumper has a few nicks in it already. It's a shame.
Lol what's there to be ashamed of? Mine is squealing a little bit.. I'll bring to dealer and let them deal with it since my "warranty" still covers that =) Even though they did rob me for pulling codes which I already knew =\
What is this "shootout" I keep reading about. Can anybody fill me in on that? I see a lot of you guys doing auto cross I actually wanna learn this.. seems like fun. Anybody care to teach me or point me towards the right direction.
Note: I HATE READING LOL

doug. let me guess it is the 711 on like 38th and chestnut (i'm just thinking university city where you live). sorry to hear that. i drove to and from work slowly and carefully yesterday after hearing of everyone's bad luck.
pete, i am weary of off the shelf tunes. i know i need a custom tune and i wasn't going to get one with all stock hard parts on because i think that is a waste of money. the off the shelf tune i am running now has surprisingly been good. i thought it was knocking at first at light load in low rpms but it seems that tuners are learning that the ecu is using knock sensor input in these cells to control various engine functions. i was going to try the Cobb stage 2 map on the way home from getting the exhaust installed and take logs the whole way. any issues, then it is going back to stock tune and waiting to get tuned.
i'd figured i try it at first considering tim had a couple of CELs on the stock tune after his mods were installed.

There are some techniques to getting the old exhaust off that could save you some headache, specifically the DP..Are you doing the 02 housing as well?
EVO's hit knock all the time in closed loop, it's just how the ecu works, always looking for the most possible timing and optimum AFR, no worries.
BTW heres pics of the exhaust.

I slacked and only did rotors and pads...lol. DBA 4000 Series slottle version, and Girodics Magic pads. Feeling pretty good so far.
Sanh, I dont think brakes are covered under the warranty, but what do I know, I dont have any warranty work experience.

Sanh, Mitsu will not replace your brakes under warranty. They might replace your calipers if the paint is peeling, but not the pads and rotors. Wearable items are not covered under warranty.
Other auto manufacturer's like Audi and BMW do, but they have free maintanence programs for the first couple of years you own the vehicle.
petey, you done been PM'd
nick, i can show you my paint at the next meet we're both at. you will see spots where is there no clear coat....you can't see it that well. that's the good thing about white.
josh, was your car ever repainted? it looked like the chassis/subframe was an older red color than the rest of the car.....it could just be that you washed/waxed/maintained the outside of the car. i was meaning to ask you if you did that at the last meet.

Sounds good Dan, I've found a spot on this X that the guys burned through the paint on the edge of the door. They did SO much damage, it's taking quite a bit of time and effort recovering this, but it's getting there. I wouldn't have been able to tell you it was a metallic paint when I started this car...
