Just to second what was already said, copper nuts are a better bet. They won't seize to the studs, and they hold up extremely well under the heat. The SS can occasionally oxidize under high temps. I have high quality SS nuts and they're already turning white after just a few years of use.
I got the turbo done finally. I wanted to see if the the downpipe rubs too much so I took it out for a quick spin. It's vibrating a lot so I have to have it modified this weekend, but I floored the car for a second and holy **** it pulled hard. I missed having something oversized and useless in everyday driving.

HX35 right? I'd be interested in seeing how that does on an Evo. I don't recall ever seeing one on an Evo. Keep us posted.

Damn you guys are going 100mph in here, I started my new endevour at KHC and have not had time for anything, including cutting my grass for the past 3 weeks!

Right now I am going an E55 buildup which is a royal PITA but should be nice when I am finished, goal is 11.2's

BTW my apologies if anyone has not been able to get ahold of me lately, I am hoping things will settle down soon..

BTW Carol went in for another ultrasound, and not only is it DEFINITELY a boy, but she said he actually waved at her today! ( mr. Peteyturbo Jr. that is)

Pete, congrats on the baby. when's her due date?

Jim, I wouldn't polish it but I'd def look into getting it coated.

I don't use copper or stainless hardware, I have special titanium inpregnated alloy nuts on sodium filled studs, all coated with a space age polimer used by NASA on the space shuttle. My gaskets are platnium based and I use my own special dressing with 7 herbs and spices thats been passed down in my family from generation to generation.

Happy Friday everyone!

Checked on the car yesterday afternoon and its coming along nicely. Insurance is pushing back on a couple things but hopefully it will all get worked out.

I ahve a new delima now though, maybe you guys can give me some input. I need to get new tires for my BBS MR wheels, the Z1's I have on there are pretty much shot. Before all this happened i was going to just put a set of shaved Z1's back on the BBS and use that the rest of the season. Then next year I was going to get some 18x9.5 wheels with hoosier A6's to step my game up.

Here is the problem, I came across a deal on a set of matte black 18x9.5" Nt0-3's that I can't pass up. I don't whether I should grab those wheels and put A6's on them to use just for the track or if i should get the Z1's for them instead and put A6's on my MR wheels. There are pros and cons on both sides.

If I run the nt0-3's on the street, with Z1's, I will have a bad *** looking setup to drive around on. I could still run them @ the AX if I didn't feel like changing wheels (which is nice) but I wouldn't be as competative as with the A6's. I could always get A6's for the BBS MR wheels later on down the road, but then I'd be changing tires at events anyway and it wouldn't be as competative at if I had 285/30 A6's on the nt0-3's.

On the other side of the coin I could just get a set of full tread Z1's for the MR wheels, use them on the street, then use the Nt0-3's w/A6's for track only. The upside is that I'll be as competative as I can be for my class but I'd have to change wheels at ever event AND I would only get to use those bad *** looking wheels a couple hours a month.

decisions, decisions... give me your input guys, I'm curious what everyone thinks?

Thats so wrong man...damn

On with the wheel thing. I think you should do the NT03 with the A6 for track use and run the BBS as a dd. The width on the NT03s would allow you to run some really wide tires for maximum traction. You're prolly drving at the limits of the z1 already. I think Fineberg is running 285/30s on his 9.5 wide wheels. A little fender massaging, but it'll definitely make you competitive...PRO pax next season?

It would be a shame to buy 18's and only use them for events. At the same time it would suck to have nice wide wheels and only use them on the street. Your f-ed, I don't know what to tell you... Buy two sets of 18's and sell the BBS.
