Um i completely disagree there buddy.. ive done it before and the results werent good.. so wait u want me to put a 61mm turbo on my car with 850s that werent scaled right then thro 280 cams in and drive 3 hours! haha

Thanks guys, that was my concern. Chuck, I dont have a turbo and all that stuff tho, would it still harm me? I'm just upgrading cams...It just needs to make it to get tuned. I won't be flooring it on the way there. I just need to know after the install if I can make it there safely on stock tune w/o hurting anything.

 

Long, I don't see why not... When do you plan on doing the install vs. when are you getting tuned?
I highly recommend the speedfactory for your tune, they did mine.

Youll be fine if your just doing cams and there not very aggressive.. If your not traveling to far you cant cause any damage.. just make sure u get it tuned asap like the next day or so.. which cams again the S1's right? if so ur fine

Yea, you'll be fine. There is even reports of people driving weeks and months on cams without a tune. While I wouldn't do that, I think you will be just fine as long as you aren't flooring it.

 

Yupz, The S1's Mivec. I plan on setting up appointment to go with Chu. Just need to get the cams in right before we head out to there. That's why i need some help from someone who did them before on a IX or has good experience Whose up for it?!?!?! Thanks for input guys.

You can disagree if you want but that does not mean it is correct. I said if you swap cams.. If you want to go cruise across the country to get tuned you will see very little difference at all in AFR's or timing for that matter during closed loop operation..Why give the guy false info?? If you have injector scaling problems (alot of people do) I'd look at whoever scaled them that way if you had some trouble.

 

You may want to ask your tuner these questions before jumping to conclusions.
