Philadelphia Car Meets
Pete, I really want to and am disappointed with myself for missing this whole summer of events. I am a little weary about going WOT until I get tuned for this exhaust and UICP. Also I am having a suspension issue that I am praying will get sorted out. The WOT bit is the main limitation though.....
I wouldn't worry too much dude. The stock tune is quite conservative. The car should be running close to exactly the same afr and timing as stock with your mods.. These cars were meant to beat the **** out of and handle it like a champ
Have faith in your car
Just remember to clean the soot off your rear bumper on a regular basis.
Just remember to clean the soot off your rear bumper on a regular basis.I actually did run WOT at the drag strip without a tune. I went down the track 3-4 times. And my mods were TBE, UICP, and drop-in filter.
Ivey did a pre-tune pull and my AFR's were still off the charts rich. You'll be fine if you want to an event.
Do you have any idea how many bone heads put on parts and rip around in their car with no tune? A TON!! Mitsu almost makes these things bullet proof because of this. It's also why you can get 50hp from just a tune. It is tuned so very very safe. If they didn't you'd see cars all over the road....
Dan, I can at the least log a WOT run for you if you're that worried for peace of mind. I just don't have the cable to tune a X or the confidence in my tuning abilities. If you ever want an idea on whether or not you're knocking you can take my laptop for a ride.
This is a stupid question, but does anyone here know anything about Temples engineering program? I'm considering backing out of transferring to Widener and going to Temple instead. They're almost a third the cost in tuition.

FYI rotorpros are just drilled and painted centric rotors you can buy at any store..I think it was centric anyway..

I just got the go-pro mounted on my hat. POV pheasant killing all next week
I might be at boeing, I fly home late sat night so we will see.
Until you guys go to the track you have no clue what your brakes/car is capable of. I know I had no clue. You just need some decent pads and good/fresh fluid.
I missed a couple track days because I was a ***** and I read too much on the internet about brake fade, and track pad vs street pad bull crap.
Now I know never to watch Jaws before going deep sea fishing
My car is prepped for hell

thanks guys. i have an appointment with rt tuning next week to see what the story is with my suspension. if it is fixable then it is off to a custom tune i go.
i don't want to be that bonehead who blows his engine up because he thinks he's some great tuner when in fact we all know i am not.

It's all very deceiving looking into these things. Individually they all seem very respectable in price, then you start hitting that add to cart button... and your face tends to make this expression -->
Looking at rotors, those rotorpros are crazy cheap for a full set. Is that something you really want to go that inexpensive on. Wondering if there is a quality tradeoff compared to some powerslots or the other available options. Following Pete's concern too, the carbotech's appear as a full race pad, yay or nay.
I'm sure some of you have seen jid2's progress on his car, if not I would check out his build thread. Guy has a lot of good ideas and a lot of time spent in fabricating pieces for his car. I'm hoping that with the continued progress on my senior design project I can use the knowledge I'm picking up in composite manufacturing to turn around on the car for some one off pieces like he is doing. Ugh can't wait until graduation and the huge time drain school places on the "fun" things you have to push aside is finally gone. 7 MONTHS left of 5 years.
Side note, I went to look at my total class completion list over the last four and a half years, made we want to vomit. 180 credits and rolling at this point, wondering how much more I can cram in.

I followed Pete home on Sunday.......He doesn't want my brake pads
But seriously the et800s are great for the track and do well on the street. Mine are pretty loud, but I need to install shims. Hopefully they will be a lil quieter.
SS brake lines were a nice upgrade, really improved pedel feel.
Engine roll stopper was another good one.
The only thing I plan on buying is new rotors this winter, the rest is going towards track time, tires, mortgage, utilities, maybe another tooth

Pete I dont want to clutter up your carbotech thread so I will post this here. My brakes are loud because I have no shims or lube, and a large shoulder on my worn out rotors. Most of the people that run these pads have very little noise. They have been great for me and if you search them on this forum or wherever they have great reviews for exactly what your looking for. Cheak out racing brakes site. They have alot of good info there

They work great but squeak alot sometimes. I can make it to work and back without them being noisy just some days are worse than others. I was making them pretty loud on Sunday with Pete, but I can deal with it. They work on the street, track, and autoX great.
