hey oakes man, its business. **** happens, and as ****ed up as it is that that happened, no one can predict that something like that will occur. and i trust you, what matters in the end is everything is getting fixed and nobody was hurt. he has every right to be mad, but that probably should have been kept between the 2 of you

shaw i am going to pm you my number so you can text me when you're there. i am all over the building so i am sure to run into you.

dude i hear you with the jerkoff prisoners. last week i was on the subway and saw two junkies get on. one was someone i helped out a lot. he nearly died several times while in there and probably shouldn't have made it out. needless to say he was higher than hell and hasn't changed his ways. before he was off the ventilator he was writing on a pad of paper that he wanted his methadone. uh how about breathing on your own first, buddy?

how is THAT beside the point, that is the entire point! You should not have been driving that car or anyones car around. You were trusted to detail my car, not give people rides in it. Its not like you didn't have 5 other cars there to drive when you friend said he needed a ride. But, even if you didn't have any other cars to drive, it still doesn't give you the right to you a customers car as your own.

I would have thought given the fact that I gave Oakes 12 other cars to detail he would think twice before using mine as his personal EVO to run errands in. WHo knows how many other peoples cars you have used as a taxi, or to go joy riding in, and they just never found out because nothing happened.

I think the best description for this situation is summed up in one single word, INTEGRITY. The definition of Integrity is what people do when they think nobody is looking. When nobody was looking, Oakes took my car for a joy ride and wrecked it. People, you can do whatever they want, hand over the keys to this 20yr old and roll the dice if thats what you want to do, but don't say you weren't warned.

Of course he handled the situation like a man, what other choice did he have. He lucked out because insurance for that lady covered 100% of the damage. All he did was wreck a car and walk way, thats not hard to do, give my anyone's keys and I'll do the same.

I'm sure he felt bad about it, who wouldn't. I'm sure it was an accident, nobody intends for this type of thing to happen. Thats why there is insurance. What I didn't expect however, was for someone who I told no less then half a dozen times "DON"T **** AROUND IN MY CAR" to turn around and do EXACTLY the opposite. If this had happened while he was driving my car to or from me then it wouldn't be an issue. But thats neither here nor there. The car was not supposed to be used to give friends rides in, thats why I'm making a big deal about it and thats why I'm not putting it behind me.

Anyone who's driven these cars for a little while will tell you they are HARD to crash unless you do something STUPID. Speeding in the rain is stupid, joy riding in someone elses car is STUPID. Slamming on the brakes at the same time while you try to steer the car is really STUPID. In my case, while Oakes was driving my car, all those things happened.

I put 103k accident free miles on her, Oakes had her for .001% of that time and managed to cause $13k worth of damage.

Marc, I don't mean to dismiss the fact I drove the car, improper wording on my part if you will. You're right, it isn't beside the point. However, I did not just give my friend a joy ride, he needed a ride to pick up his vehicle from the shop. I did not have other vehicles to drive here because I would have if there were. As you know, my parents are divorced and the vehicles are split accordingly, I do not need to go into the specifics of my personal life here.

I understand you are upset, but the police report and the filings with the insurance immediately classify that this accident was the other drivers fault and that I was not speeding around in your Evo. Yes, I was driving it, no I shouldn't have been but I did everything in my power to keep your vehicle out of harms way. Another drivers inattentiveness is what made this situation worse, I feel you think I was wrecklessly driving your car when I was not and I have tried to reassure you that many times - and in your own words "I can tell that you are truly sorry, and I don't intend to drag you through the mud over this" doesn't seem to be as truthful as it was intended.

I understand that I destroyed your trust for me and I will continue to do everything in my power to reassure this type of situation will never occur again. I do not wish to speak of this matter any further, but I will explain myself since it is being brought to public attention.
