Alright buddy, I'll let you know. I've had plenty of offers from detailers but I can honestly say that I'd only trust you because of the work you've shown on here and the mutual friends we have. I know I haven't personally met you but I see you at the meets and the other forums like tristatetuners....etc. It's just a matter of when I'll call you.

Its been very hard to sit back and not say anything about my situation, but when I see other EVO owners about to make the same mistake I did, I feel the need to share my story.
Oakes is the reason my car was wrecked.
Very long story short; Oakes was given my car to detail back in July. It was in his hands for a couple of days, before any work was performed, when a friend of his said he'd give him $20 to take him for a ride. Thats right, he used my $30k EVO as a taxi to drive one of his friends around. Real nice. While he was giving this kid a $20 ride in my $30k car some lady pulled out in front of him... the rest is history.
$13k in damages is what the end result of my Oakes detail cost. Lucky for him the insurance company from the other lady is claiming 100% fault. Like I said, this is a very short version of the story. Oakes will tell you something different, I'm sure, because he has changed his story EVERYTIME I've talked to him about it.
I'm sure he's being real careful now, like he said he would be with mine
just something for you guys to think about before you hand the keys to your pride and joy over to a 20yr old kid.

Unfortunately, Marc is right. The car was wrecked in my possession, however, I'd like to address that the car was given to me after I had detailed about 10-11 cars for Marc previously and we had swapped cars so I could detail his. With that said, he had my car and I had his. Yes, I shouldn't have used the vehicle to drop my buddy off at the shop to pick his car up, but thats beside the point now. However, I would also like it to be pointed out the car wasn't deliberately taken out carelessly and I wasn't beating around the car, as Marc has my car and I had no other vehicle beside one of his work trucks that I had spent 4 days repairing of paint overspray and did not want to dirty up in the rain - looks like I should have done that instead. Unfortunately an older woman blew a stop sign after admitting to police she saw me approaching and proceeded anyway, in the rain.
I have done everything in my power to assure this situation was taken care of, her insurance had been put at fault and covered 100% of the damages, I even left my own car for Marc to drive for 2 weeks, and then swapped with another family members car when mine had to go into the shop for another 2 weeks while insurance was figured out. I understand Marcs frustration and anger over the situation, and I am glad the car has been fully repaired.
