Philadelphia Car Meets
Hey Marc, I completely agree with you about your car. I would be so Pissed Off if I found out someone took my car out to run errands or joyride. Let me tell a little story about my car.
I bought my first brand new car in July 2003. It was an Acura RSX Type-S and it was my pride and joy. I always liked the Integras so it was natural that I went for this thing. I think I had it for about 5 weeks when I decided to let my buddy drive it. My friend Joe had been my roomate in the Marines and we drove each others cars once in awhile so I trusted him. He asked me for the keys so he could take him and one of our mutual friends to the local Burger King for some grub. I was busy in the Internet helping a local guy buy parts for his RSX. They were gone for about an hour so I got a little anxious naturally. Joe finally pops his head into the front door and says "Jim, you need to come outside and look at something." I shunned him off and told him I was busy. He started mumbling his words and when I saw the look on his face when I looked over I knew something went bad. As I walked toward the front door he skampered away and ran down the driveway. He started to apologize with his eyes getting all teared up. Mind you he was a little guy and knew I could smash his face in with one punch but I'm not the type. I looked at the car and the whole side got swiped by a freak'n pole that was anchored into the ground with concrete. The windshield was cracked badly, the A-pillar looked like someone took an axe to it. The Side View mirror somehow busted off and managed to smash through the door window and hit the passenger in the face. The door was all smashed in including the rear quarter. I was in total shock!!! It was so bad I almost didn't react at all. In the end he took out a personal loan and paid almost $7000 out of pocket to fix it. I forgave him and we managed to stay friends ever since. He happened to be the BEST MAN at my wedding 3yrs later......

I hear ya on the TSBs. I took my RSX one winter when I lost 1st, 3rd, 5th gears. None of the forward gears would go in. I found a scanned copy of the TSB and brought it to the local dealership in Montgomeryville. The guy in the service department looked at me like "how the EFF did you get this?" Anyway I thought he was going to be a jerkoff but he ended up going out for a ride and identifiying the problem. The sweetest thing was that they gave me a brand new Acura TL w/Navi to drive around in until it got fixed. I had that thing for like 15 days!!! I was hoping they forgot about me so I could keep the TL...haha.
