Philadelphia Car Meets
Marc, I don't mean to dismiss the fact I drove the car, improper wording on my part if you will. You're right, it isn't beside the point. However, I did not just give my friend a joy ride, he needed a ride to pick up his vehicle from the shop. I did not have other vehicles to drive here because I would have if there were.
So, you didn't have another truck from my company you could have taken for your friend in. How about the one that was sitting in your garage that I just gave you to detail? I guess its not as fun to drive a truck as it is an EVO. Its not like you couldn't just say "friend, I don't have a car to give you a ride". Instead you said, sure lets take this EVO here, nobody will know.
I understand you are upset, but the police report and the filings with the insurance immediately classify that this accident was the other drivers fault and that I was not speeding around in your Evo. Yes, I was driving it, no I shouldn't have been but I did everything in my power to keep your vehicle out of harms way.
I honestly wasn't upset when this all happened. My first concern was for your safety, thats the first thing I asked you (are you OK) when you call and told me the first version of your story. Unfortunatley it was a very busy day at work and I didn't have time to absorb all the events that had just transpired. As everything of the day set in and I started to put the pieces of the puzzle together it didn't add up. Thats when I began to realize what had happened and what you were doing but shouldn't have been doing.
Marc, I don't know what more you want of me. I admitted to you that I shouldn't have driven the car, it was never your problem that he needed a ride and I wish it never became so. I'm trying to be as reasonable as possible in making sure everything was taken care of for you. You had my personal car for 2 weeks after the fact to assure you had a ride, you received another family members car when mine needed an inspection/new registration for another week, and another vehicle after that when that one was needed elsewhere.
Marc, I've been driving high powered and exotic vehicles for the past 3 1/2 years with no issues until your car, the police at the scene did not think speed was a factor and it wasn't. If it was, then the insurance situation would have been much different. There was very little time to react when she pulled out because like myself AND the report said, she yielded at first which caused no counter reaction from me initially, and then proceeded to pull out when I was within 40-50 feet of her. On worn tires, in the rain, no matter what speed, the impact was going to be absorbed by the other vehicle regardless. I was wrong to take the vehicle out, I know this. However, I was not putting your car at risk and clearly you do not believe me but I am being honest with you here. I'm sorry that it accumulated to $13k in damage, but with that said, the vehicle has been repaired, you will be able to drive it again and I'm sure the body shop that you chose made it very much the same car it was before the accident. As I have said from the beginning, I am SORRY. If we could please stop this discussion now as it is seemingly going in circles.

Just let it go the both of you seriously, you guys are making this OUR problem now when it is both YOUR problems. Its been brought to the public, we know now...On behalf of everyone in this thread, I ask politely, please stop. Thank you.
I'm with Nick. Keep it between the two of you. I'm sure we've all formed our opinions based on both sides given, and no amount of back and forth is going to change that. At this point it's just venting anger and therefore a waste of energy. It accomplishes nothing.
On a sad note, I believe I have to either replace my slave cylinder or the 1-2 synchro. It's popping out of gear all of a sudden today. Damn. The slave has had me wondering for a while as the engagement height isn't holding steady.

Jim, I'm sure that Slambrosio would cut him a good deal, they move a lot of cars. I just don't like sending poeple there. If he's only going to buy the car there and never return again then I say go for it. Just don't ever take it there to get it serviced. EVER!
happy tuesday guys. i worked all freakn weekend. The wife told me to take off but the Blown Transfercase has me feeling really guilty about passing up overtime money so I've decided to work every minute I can. Petey I know you have a lot going on and I keep mentioning this but I would really like to set something up with you here in the next 2-3wks to see what we can do. I call "Shep" last week around Thurs. or Fri. and they were just tearing it down so no ETA just yet.
I know a guy in NJ who is a sales manager and also owns two evos, he can hook you up!
Me too. If I have to drop the trans the wife is going to slit my throat in my sleep. She f'n hates my car. The synchro is cheap and easy to fix, it's the removal and installation of the trans that is the suck. I've been tuning it since the cruise Sunday and it kept getting faster and faster and felt awesome by this morning. Then this happened.
Sorry to hear about your girl Nick. Wanna bang my sister in law? (the answer is NO you do not)

You can find decent evo trannies under 1000 nowadays, I paid 800 for mine, and although it's rough around the edges, does the job!!
Just an option if you can't have downtime, because tearing it down, inspecting, and ordering parts can take some time, not to mention rebuilding it, and having the proper presses and hardware to get the gears and such off and on
