Hey everyone, one of my buddies is looking to get an evo but we have been unsuccessful at locating any decent deals in the area. The best one we could find was this one.

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&pageNum ber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage= 0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE+descending& certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-|E-|M-_34_|B-21000|D-_7211_|N-N|R-250|I-1%2c7|P-PRICE+descending|Q-descending|Z-19406&aff=national&paId=298293384&recnum=8&leadExi sts=true

If any of you guys know of a decent bargain in the area, please do let me know. Thanks in advance for your time.

EDIT:

By the way, he is looking for something at $20K, or $22K at the very highest.

Have you check fastcarguys, located in Levittown? I saw 4 evo 8s there this past weekend, with tags in that range. Good Luck.

Is it bad that I ordered a stg2 clutchmasters and was shipped a stage3?

Thoughts... keep in mind my car is lightly modded but not my DD.

Most evo owners stay away from clutchmasters..I have no idea how they work on an evo. But if you didn't get what you ordered I would take it back..Is it a puck style clutch or full face organic disc?? It could be a bit more then you bargained for with clutch chatter and engagement..Evo's are very picky with what kind of clutch you use..

I talked with the shop who works on my car before I ordered it, they do use the clutchmasters with a good amount of success. The stage2 is a full face, the stage3is a segmented face, both use kevlar instead of organic material. The stage3 has a holding capacity of 110% over stock vs 70% for the stage2. I was told that I could have some chatter with the 3, but he has never used the 2 so I was going to be the guinea pig. I think I will end up sending it back since I don't need it right now.

"Other Pete" lol

I wouldn't take that risk either. Someone called me a few weeks ago complaining about their trans after installing a clutch that was too much for the car. Like Petey said, the trans is piniky, so save yourself the trouble and get the right one. Good luck bud!

By the way we have to come up with nick names for you guys..big pete, Litte pete ?

I was just about to post the same thing that Pete did. I would go with an ACT street disk if I were you. That will be plenty of clutch for your setup and be extremely driveable on the street.
