I am sure the combustion chambers are caked up to no end, plugs are trashed obviously, who knows if the injectors are clogged.. Hopefully the ethanol from allentown will clean most of everything up as far as the soot goes, so far the E85 from allentown brought the car back to it's normal state of tune according to sandmonster..All we can do is cross our fingers.. Fuel analysis is going to cost about 350.00 through a place we use at work.. I have a chemist here that can break everything down and make sense of it thankfully.

I feel the same as Josh, love driving it, just didn't like putting the mileage on it. I will admit, my commute is under 7miles each way, and I go home everyday for lunch. Its still under 100miles a week to-and-from work.

I fail to understand how getting another car that you plan on lowering and putting wheels on is any different than driving the car you already have. Not to mention all the problems that come with having two cars in the city.

Damn. I hope your engines ok Ben. Its too bad you dont run meth too. It has a nice steam cleaning action in the combustion chambers that helps with excessive carbon deposits. 30k miles and my pistons look like theyre a few miles old. Does e85 have a similar effect? Im really looking forward to giving it a try. Just have to get injectors.

^ Believe it does Josh.

That really sucks about the contamination. I hope everything works out for those who got stuck with it.

It has even more of an effect then meth/gas.. Typically the inside of my exhaust tip will hold a mirror shine until about 2-300 miles of driving, inside the exhaust manifold will not really show any signs of soot, so typically it is just clean bare metal in there also, you can pretty much eat off it..

john and dan i agree completely, i hate the fact that i've put ton of miles on mine by going up the mountains 1 day a week plus driving like 20 mile round trip to work every day. i just gotta get my truck up and runing so i dont have to take the evo to work every day :\

Quit the whining about putting miles on our evos.. These are not ferraris they are lancers! I know we love them but they are made to be abused and over engineered for that reason, just keep up on maintenence and let the miles climb Get your moneys worth for gods sake!

Lol. Thats how I feel about driving mine. The mileage sucks because of maintenance and I eat through gas but its not a 911. I really avoided the e85 bandwagon for too long. I love the easy access I have to meth but with stations popping up all around its becoming logical.

i'd drive the hell out of my porsche or ferrari if i had one but super mundane task like doing 40 in 4th gear i believe is best done in a beater neon if you as me.

i used to have an srt-4 and guys on the forums (mainly from jersey) would talk about getting a beater or dd. ummm last time i checked a neon was a neon and usually got DD. they're fun cars for the money but no garage queen.

Drive my car and you'll see why.
