Where would it be worth it to go for a tune in MA!!!
Well I mean you can pull up positive threads on DSG tunes and negative threads on Ivey tunes also, it’s actually pretty funny that some of you would choose to bring up negative threads on DSG, and positive threads on Ivey. I could also get into that whole game but to save a lot of pointless arguments and time, just go to DSG talk to the guys see what they say and get a vibe from them, then call Ivey see what he has to say and make your decision from there. If you’re sitting her waiting for someone to tell you the right shop to go to it’s never going to happen, you’re going to have to be the judge.

I can assure you that Dex hasn't dramatized one bit of his account. I certainly see your point and I, too, have limited faith in word-of-mouth accounts... that said, I no more trust the word of a professional driver or race team than I do a community of enthusiasts whose platform has been in the market for over a decade...
I find fault with Dex for returning to DSG for further clutch work after his negative experience with their first clutch job on his car. You might ask what other choices were available to him and that certainly is valid. The results of his second clutch job at DSG are that he has a clearly broken boost solenoid. Rather than come clean about the damage, the boost line was hooked up and he was told that the likely reason for him losing boost was that they inadvertantly replaced his restrictor-less boost line with a stocker. Whether he was blatantly lied to, or whether DSG's representative was lied to by his tech. is irrelevant to me.
Do other shops have customers with negative experiences? Of course.
Do I believe that all of your DSG experiences have been positive? Yes, I do.
I also realize that the DSG guys are great friends to many members of the board and the automotive community in general...a status that I'm sure they didn't achieve overnight or with consistently shoddy work. They have demonstrated that they have the capability to do great things and perform good work.
however-
Personally, and through word-of-mouth I admit, I have heard of too many negative experiences there to recommend them to anyone. Whether the recent accounts (of shoddy work) that I've been exposed to are a trend toward the negative or simply isolated incidents, I don't know. But I don't think it's fair to ignore them.
I prefer to learn and work on the car myself...but I realize that that is not an option for everyone...and when someone appeals to the boards for a recommended shop, I don't think anyone should be shocked that there are voices For and Against any and every garage out there. Certainly, DSG is convenient and certainly they have satisfied customers. But the service history that some of my good friends (and yours) have experienced there will definitely keep me from bringing my business there.
PS I hope you're coming to the meet tonite... we don't have to talk about this topic at all but it will be good to see you and the car again!

I prefef Ivey to DSG! I would rather take my Evo to Ivey, even if it is 305 miles from home. I stay in a hotel while Sean and his team work on my car. In the end I pay twice what I would if I went to DSG. I have used both shops and will only use Ivey in the future.
my car/license/registration - found the best traffic lawyer as i could, and going to talk about what could be possible next monday. ill keep u updated. first thing first, if, ONLY IF i get my license back, im gunna go down to the meeting, and crash into Dave's car fisrt thing. lol
Payback is a *****!!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha... bring it on!
I only kid with you. I seriously hope you can get yourself back on the road so you can come to the meets, and the garage days!! It's lonely being the only silver evo at the meets....
