That's what they all say But I'm not sure how it works in NY. But here in NJ people do get "real" stickers, but if its not linked to DMV is as fake as all the other stickers...

I never had as far as i know fake inspection sticker. I'm living in NJ.

Also last week i was at the first time at paramus Inspection station. With after market HID 's in the car. KATZ , stricly JDM
And when they turned it on, it was blue as hell. But they dont even mentioned it. The car just passed with no problem.
I guess it depends who you get at the station. Also, I did get pulled over with my "real fake" sticker that I paid $100 for. I thought it was real, and the 2 officers that looked at it, didn't think anything of it. UNTILL I got pulled over in a different town and the police officer actually ran my VIN thru DMV's records. That's when I got a $500 fine and a ticket for failure to inspect. When I went to court, out of about 20 people, 15 of us was for fake inspections stickers and only the rest was for parking/speeding tickets. That shows how much they are trying to "crack down" on this subject

for everyones information, i went yesterday for my inspection and passed, with injen intake and all lower and upper pipes, no front passenger seat, no rear seats and everything removed from trunk. the guy was like whats up with your car, why is it like that?
I'm like this is how they come from the factory lol
in NJ they only hook up your car on the computer if its a newer model.

oh- i got a printout saying DMV has received my new inspection report.

here in PA i was told that they cant fail you for tint anymore. You can always put a high flow cat on and gut it so it looks like you have a cat on your car. Just make sure you dont have a check engine light.

i have a ton of stuff on my car. they plug into the obd 2 port and i get my sticker in under 10 min. my twin turbo 300zx i married my inspector to make sure i got my sticker each year. when that shop closed down the settlement cost me 150. a year for a sticker that would have normally cost 37 dollars she had a better lawyer since i got my evo it's been back to 37 dollars a year. i love this thing over 400hp and still passes inspection
