Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards

Every class except for Street touring (stu, stx, ect) can run r-comp tires. The only restriction is tire size/width, which is class dependant.
Stock class is not necessarily cheap. Many of the nationally competitive stock class cars have $5K+ shocks and light wheels with r-comps.
You should compare RAW times not PAX, in this instance.

all this talk is getting me pumped to race. I will def be attending some autoX's up there, maybe going to the glen for a weekend if the funds permit, NJMP for sure, hopefully get some tips from marc, and then a few events down here. Dont know many people that race autoX down here, everyone either seems to do road course or drop 10k into the car and store/barely drive it.
met this guy who has a black sti, 06, (hes maybe 40), has aftermarket seats, wheels, full cage front and back with door bars, never been to the track; ever. wtf?
and carson I feel yea, i dont think my star specs are awesome in the rain either. does not give me the confidence the old re01rs did, and simply highway drive while raining makes me nervous bc the tail gets loose

could be a tire pressure issue. Z1's have particularly stiff sidewalls.
The rain DID NOT cause my accident, im sure it was my fault not knowing how to handle wet spots going into dry spots and so on. But in no way did i feel comfortable going at a slow speed on the road course in the star specs.
But yes marc i do want to get over my fear of the wall and get back on the road course. Everyone at that event told me not to let it bother me because it happens unfortunately.
Sure, normal driving on the street they have fine wet traction like most tires but i didn't see it that way on the road course. Driving at speed (TRUST me i was still going really slow) The car was hydroplaning left and right, It really felt like i was floating on the water.

i doubt it. Rear quarter panels are super expensive, and so is installation and paint. After that little incident i decided i would never fixed the car back to perfect again. I would rather leave it as it will one day (hopefully) Just be a track car and i won't care what it looks like. Im sure the hard parkers we have in this thread would say otherwise cough cough all of you guys cough
lol

Just a random thought. do any of you guys remember an older gentleman named Dale Kulp?
RAS 58 Dale Kulp 2003 Porsche Boxster S Lapis Blue
He was the father of one of my good friends and he passed away about a year ago. He was a autocross guy and raced his boxster and even had an austin healey fully restored.
he battled cancer and when he found out about it, he sent his austin healey to some performance shop to have it restored so he could drive it before he died, but he passed away 3 days before it was delivered to him
quite sad.
