it may be the same prius motor or maybe the one in the camry hybrid.
how nice would the corolla be if they used the current IS platform. i'd buy my wife one. they are sadly underpowered though so i'd never pay the price for the lexus.
the hybrid would lower insurance?
it does look like a corolla a little

i would assume an M car would be even higher.
CR-Z will never be in my driveway.
i was asking for a collective opinion. the thrill of buy a new car is what has me most motivated.
the BMW is perfectly reliable. i don't mind taking it in as much as she does. she's coming from a corolla which to this day still hasn't need any major service other than regular maintanence so suddenly having a car with a couple years on it that suddenly needs it's regular services is a little bit of a shock to her.
also not to mention the cost of gas for her. part of me wants to keep it because i like the car and think its nice and i don't want to get rid of it only to have her turn into one of those people who talking badly about a brand because it required maintanence more frequently. the other part of me would like to see her in a more efficient, equally as nice, possibly easier to maintain (i.e., at least i could change the oil in my garage), newer car. i'll do it if she wants and as long as its no skin off my financial back to do so.

Not sure if that was a sarcastic post or not, but they are basically the same vehicle.
VW put on different front and rear bumpers, a different interior, a different suspension and that's about it.
The higher end suspenion package is actually pretty cool, and the Routan does handle better than most mini-vans. It does still come off the same canadian assembly line as the Chrysler, it has the same engines and the same POS transmissions. It also has the same POS fit and finish as all the Chryslers. Terrible move on VW's part. They had so much trouble selling them the first year that 90% of all VWOA employees had to drive them around. The first year they were out, Chrysler was discounting their vans by $10k at times.

have you thought about the audi a3 in tdi? From what they say it gets better gas mileage then the hybrids. The whole hybrid thing is cool but if you are out of warranty its crazy. My buddy works for toyota as as mechanic and was telling me about some of the hybrid components costing 5 and 10 grand!

i guess i'll have to look into the warranties on those things.
driving home today i kept thinking about how it may be a major downgrade for her. i don't know. i'll talk to her this evening about it. i'm just at a crossroads where i could sink money into the bmw and to have it maintained at a lower cost or i could sink that money into a new more efficient glorified corolla.
wassup guys, left work after only 8 hours today! woohoo! still got a ton of work to do tom and sat, but nice to be off at a normal time.
