that's the truth.

It will affect the little people like us, but the big dogs with ten of thousands of dollars in their consumables budget won't even feel it. When you have guys rolling up in Porsche cayenne turbos pulling their enclosed trailer with the cup cars they just purchased I don't think 8/gal for gas is going to hurt their wallet.

It was the little people that I was talking about. Just thinking if 93 goes to $4/gallon, I'm already looking at a minimum of $150 for gas alone for one day, including commuting to and from the track. Add food, possibly hotel, and event cost, easily makes it a $500 weekend. I can't imagine what the racetracks will be charging for a gallon of 93 then!

After the first 2 sessions I used a c-hair over half tank. During the 3rd & 4th sessions I burned 3/4. There is no way you could do 4 30min session on one tank fo fuel.. You could, but you wouldn't be having fun, you be watching your mirror the whole time so you don't get run over.

I would never (only if I absolutely had too) buy gas (93oct) at the race track. I would take the time at lunch or whenever to go fill up..

I seem to recall my first day (weekend) not having to fill up until the end of the day. Maybe i was just ***** footing it around the track, but for a new guy I don't think its all that unrealistic. Pete, you had an instructor that was pushing you @ monti and also some prior racing experience (autox) which I think played a factor in that. Same with Jeff.

Right now I need to fill up after every session, or i run the risk of sucking air with the fuel pump. I always carry 2 5 gallon containers with me and I refill them and my tank in the morning and at lunch, that is usually enough to get me thru 4-5 sessions.
