Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
I was standing by the truck after their last run. I knew they was going to bounce. I think I said it to someone standing next to me. Cocky fugs
James, don't listen to their advice. Mods make your car faster.

I don't recall his car going thru tech either. they must have somehow gotten their hands on one of our top secret red inspection dots...
In other news did y'all hear Brock Yates was there? He was driving the stickered up Mazda 3 wagon. Very nice fellow for the moment I chatted with him.

Dude, Pete is 100% right... We all mod our cars prior to knowing how to really use them. Everyone does it and then regrets it after the fact when they know better. I have had 3 suspensions besides my stock MR Bilsteins. I have bought countless wrong items and have wasted major time in doing so let alone $.
do yourself a favor, buy yourself this:

It was the best $ I ever spent on my car. There is so much to learn, its easy to develop bad habits. these guys are all excellent Autocrossers, it was a great experience for me years ago.
So in the mean time if you are on stock suspension or something with low spring rates I would recommend an adjustable rear sway bar. If you have coilovers already with high rates the stock sway bars are my preference.
That is the only change you need to make, NOTHING else! Have myself or preferably Simmonz drive your car. You will then see your platform is plenty good. down the road you can get some Hoosiers and then you start changing things per how your car reacts.
I rode with you and to be totally honest, you are like not even close to pushing your car yet. there is plenty of room to grow, it will start to make sense with a little practice.
The way you talk where everything comes easy is similar to how I thought when I first started. I had a 2000 corvette, it was Corvette day at Englishtown they had a drag and an Autox event. I could not finish 1 run on the autox, it totally humbled me. At that point I was hooked and knew that I had to figure this Autox out. It is now 10+ years later and I am still figuring it out.
Autox is like golf, it takes time and practice. You do not just sit in a car and lay the smack down, some of these guys are really serious and put time and $ into this sport.
As far as knowing you are "getting better" is easy. You need to look at your times versus the other people in class. More important than that is are your times improving after each run, are you getting faster each run. If your first run is your fastest you are not using good technique, not learning the course as you drive it. Are you practicing technique - looking ahead, braking early, getting on gas early, using enough throttle or too much. Eventually you will recognize doing that right or wrong.Knowing how to walk the course and identify key elements. All our things that need to be learned and practiced. Some things will come easy and some won't. It would not be any fun if it was easy, at least for me, thats why I keep doing this ish..

But Chu is right - I just ordered a set of Moton 6000-way adjustable coilovers with 20k/30k rates and a 3 inch swaybar made of 24k pure gold.
I'm set

thanks for the advice- once I saw the evo schools I saw an intermediate one and realized I should do novice first- novice one is in sept so i will be doing that most likely.

One other thing is a proper alignment, something that needs to be learned by you or find someone who will do it right. Decide what you are going to do with car, autox or track days or both. If it was autox only I have a few suggestions for alignment settings. If you want both talk to Marc and Pete.
More than happy to help you anytime with the Autox. Doing the Evo 1 school is great, thats all I did. It gives you a great base to build on...
there you go! If you had to get coil overs I would buy Ohlins, Motons, AST's or some crazy Penske's. your a baller go drop $6000+ make sure you get high spring rates

From what I remember your car had some lean, I would stiffen that bish up. You need to figure that out some how, even internet settings are better (blasphemy) than no settings at all to start with.
Well that is the other problem then besides you. Stick with stock rear sway bar. You need to test and tune the car to dial suspension in, for the while I am sure you could band aid your settings to get it to work better at Autox. Does anyone else have your set up to get a base starting point for Autox settings? Your car probably is handling like poop making it harder for you to learn, a proper alignment and a test and tune to figure out suspension settings - BANG you'll be seeing improvements from that point on, every event for a while.

I tried googling and searching here with no results for my kw's...
