true, but the OEM gurney flap is about a 1/4" high with not that steep of an angle of attack. when you increase the surface area and the angle you are adding a lot more force on the flap and at some point the tape isn't going to cut it. I have no idea what that "point" is, and I don't wanna be behind you when you find out either.

My gurney strip is held on my double side tape but its carbon and weigh few ounces. The stainless rod you have will pierced through the windshield like butter if it does come off.

I'll be sure to test it on the highway late it night, lol.

Acutally, thats why I made the mounting surface 2 inches wide, to make the hold much stronger.

I also suggested black chrome which is similar to hyperblack. It's like a dark gunmetal.

I believe Josh said it's a gray/gunmetal powder with a black clearcoat. Look really goo when done right.

What's shady, the double side tape is how it come from APR. Its strong enough that I think I will break the gurney strip if I tried to pull it off. But I know its not going to damaged anything if it does come off because it's so light.

Have you guys read posts about repowder coating wheels make them weaker. It was more to do with cheaper knock off wheels, but wheels have crack on track after powder coating. Just a thought.

The fact that its metal is shady, not the double sided tape.
