Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Only a few more days to sign up for the NJMP cold tire domination event before the price goes up!
Im not going to hound or chase after anyone about it, but a majority of the people in this thread who expressed interest in joining have been MIA thus far. I hope its just a matter of timing, and that people are still letting the dust settle from the holidays. If there is more to it that that please let me know what your concern is and I'll do my best to put you at ease. This whole thing came about because of interested people in here, and I really want to see those people get their feet wet.
IMO, if you own a performance car, or even if you just enjoy driving fast, you owe it to yourself to try this out at least once. I can not think of a better oppertunity to do so than this event we have planned. The registration is a cheap as it gets, the seat time is as abundant as it can be, the instruction is one on one with someone who is very experienced in driving your exact platform and the company will be almost all evos! Really, what more could you ask for?
Even though many of us joke around about dominating and Nguyening all the time its never a competition or race, its all about driver education. Doing just one of these will open your eyes about car control in a way you've probably never experienced. thats why all it takes is for someone to do one and they're hooked. The hardest part BY FAR is getting rid of those fears and misconceptions people have and just signing up for that first event. After that its pretty much downhill.
If you've autox'ed before, think of it as a 30 minute autox course that you can lap as many times as you want until you get it right with an experienced instructor sitting next to you. Like a huge test and tune.
If you've drag raced/street raced before, think of it as a safe way to roll race/test your cars performance without worrying about cops or speeding tickets.
If you've never done any of the above then you are in for a pleasant surprise because doing an HPDE is the most fun you will have in a car!
This is going to be a fun, safe event that hopefully acts as a catalyst for many of you to start enjoying your cars the way they were inteded and becoming a much better/safer driver in the process. If that doesn't happen it's fine, at least you can say you've tried it. We spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on fancy parts to make our cars go faster, stop quicker and handle better, but how often do we take the time to modify the most important part of the equation... the driver.
If you have any concerns or questions you want answered either PM/email or post them in here. Just in case you forgot; its $195 for 3 hours of open track time, with an instructor, to explore you and your cars abilities. You can drive as hard or as easy as you wish. Nobody is going to push you to drive faster than you're comfortable.
Hope to see you out there with us on the 26th of February!

Gives you the right to go after someone if you had too. Say you get messed up in an accident and your quality of life is not what is was, without full tort you can't seek compensation for that. It's well worth it IMO.
The other reason is because race car.

Nobody is getting F'd, Pete. If nobody else from this board signs up, all that will happen is we'll have to fill their spots with other non-evos.
Right now only a select few outside of this thread know about this event. We've done a good job of keeping it close to the vest to limit spots filling up with non-evo drivers. The intent was always to get as many EVO's as possible to join. If that doesn't happen, those empty spots will be filled by the usual track junkies in other types of cars (BMW, Porsche, Corvette, ect), but that is a last resort. We are almost half full now, IMO, all its going to take is a couple threads on the some non-evo/local car forums to fill the remaining spots...
If for some reason we can't make our numbers by Jan 31st deadline, then all money collected will be returned to those who paid and there will be no event in February. But nobody is going to get F'd.
