Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Thanks Pete! I am flying high still every time I watch that video I get all pumped up.
Just to let you guys know what the Super Challenge is all about, basically all class winner and closest second place in class get into the Super Challenge so they have a total of 32 drivers. Then you are basically trying to run your fastest time from competition. So they determine the winner of each side and "heat" by closest run to your time. If you beat your fast time then you are indexed again for the next heat. So the left side course was a second or more slower than the right side. I ran the left side first, after that the guy who I was running against was 1.3 seconds ahead. So I had to run a time good enough to get me the win, luckily that right side was in my wheel house yesterday. Plus I was cutting .5xx most of the challenge from what I am told, so my inner drag racer broke out yesterday!
That had to be my most exciting Motorsport experience ever. I have won things in the past, but nothing close to this. I hope you guys can appreciate why we love these ProSolos from the video.
Shoe's car got hammered this weekend, but it took it like a champ. That front diff was like Rocky Balboa, just taking shots all weekend. Good news is we won tires and $. I thought we had 7 tires coming to us, but it seems they changed it this year so I won 4 and Shoe won 1 for a total of 5. Whatever, it was a good weekend!

Some pics from the domination Monday & Tuesday @ NJMP.
M3 all cleaned up and ready to dominate.

At the track, tech'd and ready to roll

Day 1, Dan working on his car. Usually I am the one who has to wrench, so it was nice for the tables to be turned for a change.

Beginning of day 2 and Dan is wrenching again, lol.

Hotel shot

Only issues I had with the car are that the gas & brake pedals are too close, or my feet are too wide, making heel-toe a b!tch. I was sometimes hitting the gas at the same time as I was hitting the brake, making entering some corners "interesting". A proper set of racing shoes should cure this.
If you get the tank at or below 1/3rd full it will sputter exiting sweepers (lightbulb). Not sure how to address this yet.
Understeer. Lots of it! A square setup or some suspension tuning will cure this, but I want to do a couple more events with the car before I start to tweak the suspension.
Overall though I would say the M3 is actually easier to approach and drive at the limit compared to an EVO. Probably because the car feels so composed and is almost a perfect 50/50 weight balance. Transitions, like the 2-3-4 complex, are a breeze!
By the end of day two I was running consistant low 1:21's with a best of a 1:19.64. Not bad IMO for a bone stock M3. With more seat time and a few tweaks I hope to be in the 1:17's.. in TTD trim.
