Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Burn.
I admit that after instructing two students and taking my own sessions at a Shenandoah event last year my neck was sore for a few days. You can always wear a collar to help take the weight off your neck (but they do nothing for crash-induced injury protection).

There are many good helmets on the market, so it comes down to your budget. SA2005 is the minimum requirement at the moment, and SA2010 is the latest available. A lot of us are using the HJC AR-10 helmets from the two group-buys I set up earlier this year.
If the weight of any SA05+ helmet bothers you after 20 minutes, stay home in your mom's basement and play GT2.
That said, the newest generation (SA2010) of the Pyrotect ProAirflow are really light. They are only a few ounces heavier than their current carbon fiber helmet and considerably lighter than the old, SA05 of the same model. I was in the car for two hours straight on Saturday at Shenandoah (corner intensive) and have no soreness at all--I do have a big effin bruise on my left knee from constantly bouncing it off the roll bar though.

Thats what I have. Its pretty lite, its never bothered my neck, its also fairly cheap. I think the Pyrotect is probably the cheapest SA2010 you can buy.
I have the new generation Pyrotect ProAirflow SA2010. I also use the pyrotect collar for neck support(not to be confused for crash protection). I also ran an hour straight at Shenandoah last year and I was not sore either.

Hope you don't wind up with me as an instructor on Saturday, cause if so we're gonna practice 'unintentional off's' all day!
