Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Again, I don't want to get started as I'm over all the X bashing threads that there were a few years ago, BUT....
If you feel this way, shouldn't you convert your engine to run off a carburetor and take off the power steering? If you really want to get back to the basics of "driving", then you shouldn't need any computer or power related "assistance".
Maybe you don't need coilovers or shocks for that matter. Just run springs if you want to get back to basics. Isn't the rest all just technology which you don't really need since it takes away from the driver expereince.
I can agree with you on the transmission. I prefer to race with a true manual. It just wouldn't seem right otherwise.
Oh, and congrats on the newborn. Buy him an X!
I think a better analogy would have been to compare ABS to a non-ABS equiqed vechile, then I would have to agree with you, but still, if you're driving the car correctly you should never really get into ABS ( the term is called threshold braking)... its more of a safety thing like seatbelts and airbags.
having computers manually split the power between each wheel or axle to increase/decrease understeer/oversteer, or applying the brakes to an individual wheel while turning/braking or powering out of a turn based on lateral movement are the types of computer enhancements I was refering too. those things, IMO, take a portion of the 'drivers experience' out of the equasion. just like driving an auto down the 1320, there is less input from the driver and more input from a computer. Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying those things are bad in anyway. or that anyone is less of a driver for having a vehilce with those capabilities. no doubt its the fastest way around a track with equal drivers in either type of vehicle and FAST almost always = FUN. its just that personally, I don't want a computer doing the driving for me.
I lol'd
you just want him to get an X so you can have his family start making inexpensive parts for it.
Edit: if anybody has a set of Evo IX, MR bbs, VIII wheels (order of preference) available my buddy is looking to get his new evo a little more stock looking.

Youre probably one of the finest officers the city has ever seen. A hero if you will. Embodying all that we as mere citizens look for in a time of crisis. In a word, perfection. Now give me a damn card!
Yawn!!!! feeling bored, decided to do this.

Have that in mine. Feels good...have you noticed the engine sounded louder with it on?
Jealousy...kills relationships! Besides, Bob is a great guy!
Speaking of which, I'm looking to get some leather upholstery with said stitching on the X. I don't want the Mitsu package. I was hoping to get something unique(not ghetto) done. Any good upholstery shops that you guys can think of?
