Yea i was just kidding 25k tho and its yours hahaha

I was serious about being pissed off, mitsu needs to recall this bs clutch system. Smart ****ers making it a "customer wearing" part. Need to spend another 600 for the ssp MC upgrade real soon

So far:
New ACT HD clutch 6-700
Labor install from Mitsu: 1200
AMS Ring: 50
AMS SS clutch line: 80
New Mitsu MC: 350
Mitsu labor again: 250

Soon:
SSP MC: 430
Mitsu Labor: 150

Total= $3210 = Total Bull****

I def dont think its the clutch, it has around 12-15k miles on it, and is designed to take the power. ACT HD. Altho, im wondering, could a MC make the clutch slip if its beginning to fail/fracture?

Only slips when i step on it, and only if i give some gas from a stop, which is practically never

pete, where did you see the thread on another kelford snapping? I have been hearing more and more about this, but everyone else seems to say kelford are the **** when it comes to cams. Then again the S2s are great too. whose got what on here?

also, what about valvetrain? dual beehives w/ retainers?

Not really under those circumstances. Especially since it's happening under high load situations like takeoff and WOT pulls. I'd suspect the clutch discs. That's why I personally avoided the twin disc setups. They're awesome for power but they can have a ridiculously short life span. Then again some people get a ton of mileage out of them.

WTF. I need to put the beer down and start reading better. I've been drinking since 4 this afternoon. Sorry about that but I would still suspect the disc or maybe a leaking slave cylinder/master. It just doesn't make sense that it slips under WOT unless it's a bad disc.

that looks like lightning... damn those cars were fu(king FLYING. I've been on that track about half a dozen times and I've never seen anything move around that turn like that. it was like the video was in fast forward.

do you have any idea what kind of lap times they were running? last time in my EVO I think I was doing 1:17-1:18's.

Idk man, i suspect its something on mitsus side, i barely drive the car the way its sposed to be driven. The clutch has miles on it obviously, but i cant imagine im driving stick like a 12 year old girl.

Could be the master cylinder, but normally it snaps and goes to the floor. Mine is just slipping.

If you read the forums you will see that the X has a horrible clutch system.

i don't know what the laps times were. they ran the daytona prototypes right before these and they (daytona prototypes) were a touch faster and not racing all out at the the time of practice. then they had the mustang challenge cars run which were painfully slow looking and finally the koni challenge cars ran which i would guess were a touch faster than what you experience out there.

the koni challenge race was fully of attrition and quite entertaining. i certainly didn't expect that.

btw the rx-8's were the ones that sounded like F1 cars in that video.
