So I made a complete mess of the Accord today, that and I ruined all the phillips head attachments for my buddy's snap-on impact tool. Broke all three clean off... Driverside went fine, new pads and rotor in 35min. Pass side, the one came right out, the other is comletely froze. I broke all three bits in it, even heated it with a torch. Now its all stripped to death. Taking it to a friends shop on monday. I was pissed needless to say...

Well, good to hear from ya man..

You happy with work so far? Have you found the local chapter of the scca for a little fun? Better yet, have you found a suitable beer bar to quench your thirst?

^^ beer is everywhere, large micro brew presence here
work is coming, always a learning curve that seems insurmountable at first. never dealt with chassis design so its def interesting going in every day and seeing what comes up. lot of VERY smart people to leech off of

and i've learned its not scca that has presence here, but if you look in the right places every weekend can give you track time. met some guys that frequent midwest tracks for hpde style events, got my eyes set on that for next year. always helps to work for a car company, everyone pretty much shares the same hobby, just in different types of vehicles

dude did you try to remove the accord rotors without an impact driver?!!!!
i had one you could borrow- you hit it with a hammer and it twists loosening the screw.

Thats exactly what I used. I borrowed my buddies snap-on. Those are the three phillips I broke... All but one screw came right out, no problem.

Pete,

Did you spray it with some PB blaster or something similar, that ish is magical? That sucks, guess your bud is going to cut the head of bolt off at shop?

Doug. What up brotha. I see you found yourself a woman up there in MI.

Pete, that is exactly why I've decided to just pay someone to do the corrolla front brakes. OEM rotors on for 7 years means seven winters or salt and tons of heat cycling. I am sure it is going to be ***** of a job I don't need to deal with.

I didn't spray it before, spayed it after it started to go bad on me... Woulda, coulda, shoulda... Don't know what he'll do, but he'll figure it out.

I shouldn't have to pay someone to do brakes until I effe it up to the point where its screwed. Then I dump it off on to someone else to fix for me.

My car only has 40k on it, and only seen 2 or 3 winters (its an Az car originally). All the other screws came right out, no problem. Just one had to be a biatch.

I started construction sat night. Spent all weekend shifting inventory so that the contractors could get to work on the adjacent store. Not looking forward to 7 day a week work weeks for the next month (hopefully a month.)

Anyone here know anything about zoning? City is requiring me to install a handicap accessible bathroom! It's a new zoning ordinance for new stores but im only extending mine. I'm pretty sour at my current architect for not bringing this issue up.

Also, who here has done wheel studs before? Easier to just take off the castle nut and replace or is there enough room to do them one by one?
