Was indeed. I had a hell of a time and a damn good first experience. So close to beating Dan's time. Almost had to shank Marc for weighing the car down because I totally could have beaten Dan. Ughhh

Great course today! I think that fun was had by all. My best time was a 32.9. I did a 32.8, but I coned on that run. My first two runs were both 33.6's, and I improved with each run. I was fairly happy with how I ran, despite the fact that Pete ran a 32.6 and Kenny ran a 32.5 (in my car!).

I ended up hanging around for fun runs, and I'm glad that I did. I ended up doing six runs with Adam in the passenger seat, and he drove for two runs. He managed a 31.3 on his first run in my car. I was impressed not only with his driving, but also that the car was capable of such a time. Adam gave me some great driving and setup tips, and on my final fun run I managed a 32.2. I left with a smile on my face.

Long day though, time for

It's good to see that more of you are trying to make it out more often. I thought that Josh, Robert and Dan stepped up their game. Chau did great as well!

(before reading results) you did beat me on like two runs. i started over driving too much to try to beat you! you did very well for your first time.

(after reading results) nothing personal here but how does someone that has two off course runs and one +1 run place higher than my all clean similiarly as fast runs? it doesn't really matter to me personally, i just don't understand how the scoring works.

I killed my last run, much like my second I got way to gready getting into the slalom, and had to stop. Happy with a 2nd though, best result to date.

Dan and Josh, you guys will keep getting better and better just need to come out again on the 7th.

Ben, that was close... Kenny, suck it!

Chau, nice driving. Did you rub it Chu's face the whole way home?

It is your best run. Basically if you hit a cone, it is a 2 second penalty. So you will see a time listed with a plus 1 or plus 2. So if you hit a cone on a run it is basically toast. Simple as that, best time wins regardless of how many suck runs you had before.

Look at me, I was 8th in stinking PAX and last in my class. I say that with no offense to Kenny or Ben, they were on street tires and not nearly as prepped as the three local guys I judge myself against. I was talking to Simmonz and laughing that anywhere else in the country (almost) I would win the class and PAX probably. Here I am last, just goes to show you the talent pool in Philly region. There are some serious drivers around here with a lot of knowledge. Prior to running autox I had not a clue how set up a car or drive one (on an autox course). I learned everything from instructors riding with me and friends/competitors on how to set up my car. Everything, the motor, suspension, how I drive the course was learned / mimicked.
It is really cool that all you guys are getting into it (at what ever level). Events are so much more fun when you have someone to compete against that is as good or better than you, more people the better in fact. Without a doubt if you guys keep at it you will be right there in the top PAX spots. Evos are a great platform for Autox, if you can learn to drive it they are pretty hard to beat.

Funny you mention this. Ben actually BEAT the subaru GC impreza coupe race car from canada. Then the guy ratted him out for no cage and they dq'd ben so the gc could race another non caged subaru that went faster then 11.5 on 2 or more occasions. That day was messed up on so many levels. It was basically a final round dq for no cage after he already won lol

Ben, I'll try to email you that video later tomorrow when I upload everything.
I took about 200 Pictures, and like 2 horus of video footage, so if you ran your evo then give me some info + time and I will go through and get the video of it.
I love how the subarus were getting their dial ins right, but the damn evo's were a lot faster than we expected haha. That took its toll on us.

P.S. to anyone who isnt aware who i am still, i was in that ballin a$$ Hyundai Entourage Minivan. I ran a 7.60 flat.. lol.

Gah, all those gorgeous eb0's and mine wasn't there amongst them It saddened me..

and that wrecked IX, there was also a white cobalt involved, I believe the cobalt probably did something stupid and the IX driver lost control and got onto the other side of the ramp, slammed into that pole(ripping is suspensiona nd crap off) and yeah..
I remember an asian guy standing next to it when I was driving off the ramp and saw it. I was chasing a gorgeous black X in my minivan lol.

yeah turbotrix is a bunch of broke *** clowns that cant afford to rent out the track for a day and charge admission to race because they are too unorganized to run a good event.

if anything I was a ballast to even the cars weight out. I also think you should be slowed down a little so I vote we have a big guy like myself ride with you for all your runs. Can't have a rookie beatin up on the regulars.

Its always good to see what your car can do in the hands of someone with more experience. I've always said that whenever you think you've reached the limit of your setup you should let one of the pros drive and see what they can get out of it. 9 outta 10 times there will be more in there. Adam is supposed to be co-driving my car on the 7th, so it will be interesting to see how he does. I know from riding with him before he is a very aggressive driver.

from sitting with you on your first AX and yesterday I can see a difference in your driving already. You hand position was mcuh better, you were shuffling the steering wheel and had both hands on almost at all times, and you were smooth with your inputs which is very imporant. All you need is to look ahead and get more aggressive (in that order) and you'll be beating Chu in no time.

As I said yesterday, nice driving there Jonny. Wish I would have taken an instructor run in your car, but I doubt I would have went faster then you as I drove chu's car at like 8/10ths and only managed a 33.7

Awesome ben! It was fun beating you, but also I knew there was lots left out there. Hopefully I'll have my car together for the 7th.

No offense taken. Thanks for all the discussion yesterday. Even if your advice is wrong, it generates ideas This is certainly a thinking sport.

I agree with everything you stated but I wanted to reiteriate what you said in bold. This is SO true. Our region has some serious talent and I'm glad to be able to have such a high standard to compare to... even if you guys are still way outta my reach, lol. Its funny to see other people talk about how they 'dominate' their region, when in reality there isn't really anyone worthy of domination. Come to the philly region and see how you stack up against our 'regulars'
