Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
started working on the car around 9pm and by 11:30 we had the head off & cams out. It would have taken me atleast 8 hours to get that far with probably a bunch of busted knuckles and broken electrical connectors.
that dog video is very disturbing. People who think their dogs are their kids **** the F outta me. The whole reason that dog is like that is because of the owner. Both need to be put down.
Could you tell where the seal may have been compromised?
Are you gonna have it checked my a machine shop?
I thought I read something in another thread where the guy said it's kind of a pain but can be done in an hour? Not sure if this is true.
I know. I couldn't believe it when I checked the clock.
we couldn't tell for sure where the leak was. It looked suspect in a couple places but with oil/coolant all over the gasket nothing was definate.
Not going to have it checked by a machine shop. I'm pretty sure nothing warped or overheated in the 5-10 seconds my coolant temp went to 253*. I will clean the block and head surface REALLY well, though, along with the piston tops which look excellent I might add, sans a little carbon build up.
We left the intake manifold on the head and just removed the two bolts connecting the intake manifold bracket to the block along with the EVAP solenoid crap.
From what I've read/been told the intake is a PITA to remove off the head. I was thinking about doing a MAP Rev2 manifold, but I'll save that crap for the built motor. This is going to be mostly stock.
Its hard not to go crazy and do a bunch of stuff "while you're in there". I just have to keep tellin myself I can already make more power than i can use, no need to add more, just get it back on the road.
Nice! I will say Adam def knows what he's doing when it comes to that stuff, I rememer once he got started on my car it didn't take very long (as long as he had the parts).

is it at a fancy place? then $300 is a good gift.
I know you spent 1000 but you could have not gone.
