Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Dude, put it on your calender, here is an email I got from NNJR who is hosting event with some details:
SCCA has officially announced that the NNJR will be hosting a Pro Solo at the new meadowlands site on 5/20-5/22. This event will sell out fast so if you plan on attending watch for online registration on the SCCA site, as it will cap out at 250.
If you have never run a PRO SOLO, it is by far the best Solo format. I will not go into detail here, Trust me.. Google it..
For NNJR to make this a successful event we need YOUR help, even if you are not going to drive in the event, we will need many workers. This is even a great event to watch as the top drivers on the east coast battle it out from a christmas tree drag strip start going into 2 mirror image courses.
After the new year I will send out another e-mail with further information as to how to sign up to help out, as Tony Crea and Chris Vanderwolk are the worker chiefs.
So make sure you are free this weekend..
Thanks
Perry
PS: Meadowlands can cancel this event if there is a concert scheduled..
Danimal, at the Pro its 4 launches in about 10-15 minutes, usually time it takes to run 4 times. There are usually 4 cars taken at a time, so all 4 get there 4 runs in that time frame. So 2 times on Sat. you do 4 launches and then 4 on Sunday. Then if you make the super challenge it could be another 10ish or so runs, so yea lots of launches but spread out more than what you thought. You will be beating on your car for sure, no doubt about it. One good thing the surface is asphalt and not concrete at Meadowlands. At Toledo this year the concrete surface was killing cars on launch, blowing up whatever in a variety of vehicles. Luckily I was on a Fresh Shep set up Transfer Case with a Quaife, so my car was good to go that event. Asphalt does not kill cars like concrete. With that said, there is nothing better than concrete launching and out 60'ing a ZO6 or Chuck Norris or just about everyone except a dude in a FP Evo with 600 HP or something (bet he will be at this event too BTW). My car was beastly off the line in Toledo, shame I couldn't get it together on my last run, had Chuck Norris BEAT but coned the win away..
got the brakes on and i must say, they feel awesome. Thats again for the help guys.
