Leasing in New Jersey

Getting my evo in a couple of weeks, I plan to do a 3-4 yr lease on a 2011 GSR with 7k down for some low monthly payments. (expecting to pay around 310-320) Makes sense in my case because residual value is gonna be pretty low at the end.

Just wondering if anybody else has leased in New Jersey and what dealership offers the best deals in general, I'm in the Newark area but am willing to drive any reasonable distance for a good deal on a X lol.

If you've leased in NJ what was your down and monthly payments??

They are doing lease specials on the evo as we speak. $3,698 + doc and fees etc. Due at signing and 349 for 48 months. So with 7K down your monthly payments would be around what you are expecting or less.

I actually work at 46 Mitsubishi in Totowa NJ. You could throw me a pm if you wanna make a deal.

I never understood leasing... at the end of it, you get nothing, and probably have to pay more for damage, wear, and excess mileage. I put down $6k, paying about 2.5x your monthly (800+) but at the end of 3 years I own the vehicle.

Guys Guys If you want to compare apple to apple you have to mention what options you have cause you have sticker from $33 k to $40 + k

example :

I just picked up a 2011 GSR GG with Sight, Sound, Navi & Aero Pkg sticker price
$40,380.00 sticker

I walked out paying $5,500.00 out of pocket that includes everything first month tags down etc etc etc. Not a penny more.

$380.00 month 48 months with 12k miles yr

This price may be good or not but im happy

So lets say you pay 800/mo although you say you pay more than that. 800x 36 months(3yr) comes out to $34,800.

Now lets look at what I'm doing. Im paying 320 a month for the same amount of time with 7k down and have the OPTION TO BUY (hence my reference to a low residual value) for approximately 16k. So really I'm going to end up paying the same as you over a longer period of time, keeping some more money im my pocket per month.

I understand if you dont plan to keep the car that leasing is not the greatest idea, other than that I'd say its pretty smart

So then these would be the numbers for a base gsr with no options

$3,698.00 + tax lets say ny $349 X 48 = $16,752.00 = tax $1,486.74
total so far $5,184.74 + first month $349 + bank fee $400.00 lets say + tags $150.00
not sure if i forgot anything total out of pocket $6,083.74 oh yes security deposit $400 grand total $6,483.74 out of pocket !!

So basically $6,500.00 out of pocket for a base gsr and $350 month 48 month.

My lease was $1,000.00 less out of pocket and yes paying $30.00 month more but i have $5,625.00 in options and if you take that and divide that into 48 months thats $ $117.00 and dont let anyone fool you that its a lease you dont pay for full option price yes you do they take that option and divide that into your payments and boy do you pay for it trust me been leasing for long time.
I think i could have gotten a better price maybe $370 month and save another $400.00 out of pocket.
But then again when your in the back parking lot of a dealer and you see the evo covered in white plastic all over all you think is god i want it

Yes. That's how every car company advertises any special finance or lease options. Have to qualify, and usually base or close to it.
