Last night I was in the garage getting the bimmer ready for Summit Main tomorrow and noticed my brake rotors might need replacing soon.

I'm gonna try and get thru this weekend, then change them out before WGI next weekend. Thoughts?

How many Germans do you think are actually named Adolf? Actually, there are probably many who followed him and named their sons after him.

^ that rotor picture was posted on reddit earlier today. Apparently some girl went in for an oil change and said there was a grinding sound. The mechanic showed her what the cause was. She did not want it fixed and they made her sign a waiver. If it were my shop, I would not allow her to leave and call the cops. Allowing something that unsafe on the road is dangerous.

if they did that, she would have posted a negative review on yelp saying the car was held hostage.

It's a new design for slotted rotors, the ultra lightweight version! I'd call the cops, too... At least she's trying to take care of the engine?

I have a similar embarrassing story about brakes from my college days. I neglected my brakes and wore the pads down to the backing plate and locked up the calipers. The first place I went to wanted a **** ton of money to replace rotors, pads and calipers so I said no thanks and took the car and left. I was like 19 and didn't care. I got done somewhere else but you should have heard it.

I obviously didn't care for my college beaters like a should have. My old first generation dodge neon is still being driving by the kid I sold it to like 7-8 years ago. That's pretty good for the neon but pretty bad for the owner.
