incar video from an incident that almost put a hurting on me @ Summit main last weekend.
To set the video up... my novice student with 5 days total track time was in the green miata seen in the video. We were thru the shoot about to make a tight left hander in T5. The turn prior, T4, is a fast right-handed sweeper and all the braking is done after the turn, before making the tight left into T5. He checked his mirror and noticed the white SE-R (camera car) coming up on us FAST!! Thankfully he had the reaction to #1 check his mirrors and #2 NOT to turn in. Those two actions saved our ***. Had he made the turn there is no doubt that SE-R would have t-boned that little car.
Hard to tell from the vid but the SE-R was likely traveling at around 60-70 MPH at the time he crossed over. Video never does it just justice.
