I totally agree, just because someone is an "instructor" doesn't they know everything there is to know about cars or driving one.

I don't see any waste by installing basic bolt-ons like an exhaust or basic suspension upgrade. It's not like an exhaust is unreliable for track. It reduce weight, gain some power, increase exhaust flow and fuel efficiency, and the engine sound adds to the excitement on track.

As car enthusiast, we buy cars and mod them to our personal taste, for looks and for performance. How many Evo's do you see that's completely stock? There's nothing wrong with modifying your cars to enjoy it on street and on track.

I don't see how a person who spends money on nonperformance parts like Evo 9 front bumper and JDM rear bumper can get on someone's case about how they should modify their car for track.

I think the point Marc was trying to make is that it's easier to learn how to drive a MIATA on track than a corvette. In other words with less HP you can concentrate more on learning the lines and braking zones. Less HP equals better learning environment for student and teacher.

False. More horsepower means to can pass other slow cars/drivers, providing a clear path for learning.

That makes more sense. Ok... 2.3L with FP Black for all DE 1 students is the new way to go!

Mad intrawebz cred to NNR for that video. You're almost at PRO level production.

Who said I know all there is to know about cars or driving them? Don't put words in my mouth, dude.

The point I was trying to convey was that you don't need mods to be fast especially in an EVO. In the beginning all that does is cover up your mistakes and cement bad habits and techinques. Getting 100% out of your stock equipment is the first step to being fast on a race track, not adding mods. Any 'instructor' will tell you that, its pretty common actually.

Regarding the jdm rear comment... you seem to know a little about me, but I don't know who you are. Have we met? I recall you saying you were coming to the Trackdaze event back in May, but I never met you there.
