NASCAR has had a "have at it boys" policy the last 2 yrs. They got tired of trying to police everything that happens on track and the fans were complaining when they did. I think its great they let the drivers settle it themselves, thats the way it should be IMO. Bowyer wrecked Gordon twice this year, including earlier in that race at Phoenix. I think he deserved what he got... Would you let the same guy wreck you time and time again?

That being said, Gordon got fined $100,000 on Monday.

Racing is a drama, Dan. Thats why people watch it.

Nailed it. That's 1/2 the fun.

i'll take good racing over drama any day.

F1, MotoGP and WRC only for me. they are the pinnacle series for their category.

When racing becomes about wrecking eachother and fighting outside of the car then it's not racing. It's more shameless ploy for ratings than actual competition.

^ Agree with this. I like seeing innovation, sportsmanship and some talent center stage (and some grid dolly action). I understand people are people but that doesn't need to be the draw.

There's drama no matter what type of racing you watch. It doesn't have to be redneck stuff like NASCAR where drivers try to take each other out. But every form of racing has drama. Its all fun.

2009 Laguna Seca ALMS, last lap, near the finish. Magnussen bumps Bergmeister into the last corner. They come down the straight and Bergmeister takes him to the wall. BOOM, mad drama! Crazy finish. Watch it.

intentionally give someone a pit maneuver at 180 mph is not a "racing incident", it's "attempted murder".

Racing is good drama... its the same thing. Thats why you watch it. Even qualifying is drama... and they're not even battling each other.

Doesn't matter what series your talking about, its the same across all of them.

Do you think Gordon said to himself "wow the fans are gonna love this, watch me wreck him". No. He was thinking "I've had enough of this bs, I'm tired of it, now he's gonna pay".

For the record, I don't see anyone talking anyone else out on purpose at 180mph, that certainly wasn't the case this past weekend.

there is always drama in cars because of the lack of the direct communication channel between two parties.

The same can be said amongst public road commuters who frequently have road rage. The concern here is that communication and feedback do not exist frustrating people to the point of high levels of tension. Same thing happens with people who are on the phone in front of you in an elevator or a quiet room. Your frustration is partly related to the fact you are only hearing half the conversation and one that you cannot control.

So turns out shops want at least $1k to install a clutch .... i expected a few hundred less than that. I haven't tried haggling, yet.

no one seemed interested in helping me do it ... anyone got a hookup at a shop (RT maybe).
