I would def try the tob first. if it doesnt come off in 5 or so attempts go ahead and unbolt the pressure plate.

How do you line up the trans when putting it back on?

There's one shaft, and one hole. If the shaft slides in perfect, then you've got it and the trans will go in fine. put one or two bolts on, and pull the fork to engage the tob. This is important, because if the the toc doesn't engage, you have to drop the trans again.

Honestly Kenny, if you arent' concerned with money as you posted before, and dont' have the mechanical know-how to handle the job, just pay a good shop to do the work. Doing a clutch on these cars are no joke, and take a lot of time and work.

Roughly $850 in labor, plus fluids and if you need a flywheel resurfaced or anything... (don't remember if your using the oe or not). PM me if you want their number.

I don't mind the work, but I definitely don't have the specific know-how. I was hoping to find someone to oversee the trickier parts.

yup, I've been reading through it. It's a little vague on a few things, lol.
