^ baller. I wish my boss did that. Instead he just stocks the office with beer and tells us no drinking until after 4:30.

Back off topic; Here is some UDM domination from the private NJMP event Justin and I went to on Monday. This is 20 out of 30 minutes of the last shession of the day on Thunderbolt.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=TDwunHXGF18

Justin and I are neck and neck almost the entire track except for the Jersey Devil and pus where I gain on him with the Tim B. spec PRO TT RWD line.

Things I need to work on:
not ****ing up T1 & T2. I was understeering into those all day. Probably because I'm going too fast and turning the wheel too much.
still can't stay flat thru T3, have to lift a little because it feels like the car will understeer at high speed
my line thru 4 was off because I was trying to avoid the speedy dry
I need to stay off the curbing because it really throws the car around. Justin was able to smoothly go over the inside curbing of T4, but when I do it the car kicks outside.
Need to work on trail-braking more into T6, I only hit the apex correctly a few times. Its a fast turn if you can be on the correct line.

If I can hit err turn correctly and not be a wus in 3 I think there is a high 33 in TTD trim with the NT01's. I am going to make some changes to the car over the winter and I my goal for 2013 will be a 33.5 in TTD trim. Holla!

I was on (borrowed) street tires all day. My NT01's are sitting in a climate controlled room until next year.

That was so much fun...I had to let you by so I could pick my OBD dongle up off the floor...I need to find a way to keep that in place...I definitely need to work on my elbow-pus combo...I think that is where your mechanical grip from the stiffer chassis/spring and bigger (newer) tires really pays off.

I think you would benefit from adding smoothness to your steering inputs. I don't slide the car around or toss it into corners like you do and we were within what? a few tenths that session? My best lap that session (all day) was a 35.9. Your technique might work for TT type events where you need to add heat as quickly as possible, but at a DE/race type event all you are doing is sacrificing tire life for a tenth.

Did you change the rear in your car? You said you shift to 5th at 6K which is about at S/F...I was also shifting at 6K but am doing so at the end of the curbing coming out of T12...plus I can't stay in 4th for T1-T2...I'd be bouncing off the limiter.

On Saturday I'm making a trip up to Stable Solutions to try out/purchase seats and Ben got back to me last night about my roll bar...so the winter build is starting to come together.

Justin, care to tell me what seat you're getting? I have been wanting a Cobra Suzuka GT lately, as the Sparco in my car is now down in ATL going in Chau's 240SX. I have a Buddy Club at home, but its alittle tight for me. Great at the track, not so much for dd. THe Suzuka I tested at NJMP was perfect.

I really think my car would benifit from softer springs. I just couldn't hit the curbing like you could. the car is too unsettled. I was trying to take T4 like you did, but the car would feel like it hopped halfway across the track on exit and then slide to the exit curbing.

I agree I am overdriving/overworking the car. Especially the front tires. In my defense though some of my ham-fisted inputs were me correcting where the car was heading vs. where I wanted it to go. Its pretty snappy. You should have driven it and seen, thats why I added you to my insurance.

Regarding the gains in those two sections, you have to remember, even though I was on 10mm larger tires (my 255 vs your 245) and stiffer springs, you have an intake, sways, exhaust & coils... that has to account for something. 1:34.6 according to harrys is what I ran as my best time, so we're about 1.3 seconds apart best laps. Most of my laps are in the mid 35 range, tho.

I have an OEM ratio rear. 3.23 r&p, I think. I'm shifting at 6k in 4th on the straight, which is right about after I get the wheel straight and into 3rd in the braking zone of T7. I am also at the limiter in 3rd right before I brake for the devils elbow. My limited is at 6.5k. I tried 3rd into 1 and 2 but I kept hitting the limiter before the exit. When I TT i try and hold 4th on the straight but I don't drive like that for DE, unless the championship in on the line. If you took my line thru the elbow and into the pus and held forth longer on the straight I wonder what he delta would be...

looks like you're entering T5 pretty tight. Peter told me to get as far right as you can entering T5 to open up that turn for a good exit and carry the extra exit speed all the way to T6. give up on T4 a little if you have to to setup for T5. that's hes TT line, but race line you want to stay tight at T5 to defend.

so, chu saying softer spring and stiffer sway bars is better now?

Chu - I have a cobra suzuka in on the drivers side and a suzuka gt on the pass. Love them. The narrower suzuka fits me better. Feel free to stop down and try both if you want to make the drive.

I'll make the drive if I could come home with one.

It would remove a good 15lbs form the car. Free weight reduction.
