spent many hours trying to get a hold of friends. boylston/newbury have all the bars that people crowd into on days like this, and typically a ton of my friends go out on marathon monday. most of my friends were at work luckily, and the one who wasnt got dragged shopping with his gf or he woulda been at the bar not 50 yards from where the second bomb was. texts wouldnt go through until about an hour ago.


ona lighter note...would i be crazy to run an autozone/rock auto axle? it looks like i can get a whole reman'd axle for the price of OEM boot kits.

FYI, the object in Autox is to get as close to cones as possible, not a car length away from them. LOL

 

^ depends if the cone is the apex of the corner. Its not about connecting the dots with straight line son. I thought a PRO like chu would know that.

 

Sure, if all these shots are the same corner you all but James and Chu (in first picture) were off the cones. Pro advice son, try cutting some distance. Rarely is it good to add distance, late apexing a corner is not adding distance BTW, 10' from cones is!

 

Also the only person looking ahead in those pictures is Chu! Look at his head and eyes versus the rest of you fools. Chu has the proper technique.

 

How to take a big sweeper turn, by a Pro

 

those pictures were taken at the same spot. look how my car is position compares to chu's car. that means i was on the gas way before he was because my car is more straight. you can see how squat my car is from acceleration. i didn't have to turn my head as much because my car is already pointing towards the track out.

 

this is Sam Strano on the same course same day, and we know he's a decent driver. notice how he doesn't get close to every single cone to cut distance. you only need to focus on key cones to get close.

 

look how far Stranos and Burns are from that same cone, guess these national drivers dont know how to autox either.

I don't know about being close to the cone, looking further ahead, or on the gas quicker. All I know is my time is faster. BOOM.
