Looked like Hamlin was below the white line entering and through the center, above it coming off... just sayin.

So if he's below the dot entering and above it exiting, then he's early apexing. Just saying.

I only saw the white mark at the beginning of the turn, but he's already in the first part of mid-corner we'll call it... Having never been there I can't say if that's the first white mark or not. I think most nascar drivers stay out as late as possible to really try and straighten the corner out, and use all the track they can, that's how they go so damn fast...

just cause it looks similar doesn't mean its fast... actually, if it followed your line then it def wasn't the fastest way around the track.

you can search youtube all day finding videos to back you up, but when a car that has half the TQ, close to the same weight & no aero is close to your corning speed when chu have a 15mph advantage down the straight then chu is doing something wrong.

instead of watching youtube videos try typing "how to drive an oval" in the google and read what people say. I'll bet nobody recommends early apexing and turning in mid-track.

Like I said, i haz no desire to throw my car away after seeing that lotus hit the wall. I already said the car could probably handle 10-15 mph faster on the nascar turns if I drive it at limit like I do with other corners. Tires wasn't even squealing.

Not trying to fuel the fire, but when I ran NHMS South oval, I did exactly what Marc is suggesting. It was the line that most people chose, and was definitely the least sketchy.

Tight up against the wall coming in, gradual turn in, late apex, and plenty of room to track out without holding on for your life. LOL!

I'm a noob though, and haven't done 153mph, so ignore this post...

Nah... Everyone needs to know if/how much their car can be pushed harder/we all need a gauge. I too have huge room for improvement on the SE course (some of which I learned from students on Sun) as it's a bit more auto-x style than I'm used to but at least you learned that your car handle more that what you're throwing at it today. Good times...

The south-east course is not 5 speed friendly at all.

Gonna switch subjects for a second...

Anyone want to go kart soon? Been a while... I don't care where, but I'd rather go to LVGP or Slick *****'s so I don't have to pay the stupid membership cost at yet another place.

"That's my thing" --- could be the quote of the weekend. I believe your 153 as I had a passenger on each run, coasted a bunch (didn't use brakes before bank entry), and was up around 150 (1610 EGT fyi). You are lighter alone, plus, no passenger, etc so I can see it.

A DE3 E46 I was in was hitting 146-148. A DE2 E36 was around 130 but he had a little more to go... I was impressed with the E46's pull.
