I run directional tires backward all day err day. But like I said it doesn't help in your case.
BTW. Directional thread tires only maters in the rain do to thread design. TRUE directional tires have special side wall design and not tread related cause I've seen slicks that are directional.
Even tires that are inside/outside like nt01, I've flipped them and run opposite all the time.
Pirelli only used the exuce of f1 teams runing tires backward to cover their ***. F1 have been doing that for years, except for wet tires.

Nate, rotating and flipping tires after a few events help them last longer bro. Get with the program... I'm going to have mine flipped before Shenandoah...mad excited!!!

I've ran both the Dunlop's and the Kook's backwards with no issues.
I agree with Thai, you have to get them flipped if you need to balance out the inside/outside wear. Running them backwards just helps when you are abusing one side of the car more than the other (repeated heavy right turns).
Pirelli not just saying that... look at the way the tire is constructed. Silverstone is one of the fastest tracks they go to with huge lateral G loading and an average speed of almost 150mph. If the tires were going to fail, it would be there. Plenty of blame to go around in that whole thing, certainly isn't just Pirelli's fault.
