kidding. engine/suspension is staying as is...trying to make some other small tweaks since the car feels very good lately since i got the brakes sorted, especially considering i was in "tuner class" and beat everyone in "tuner mod" class yesterday including an evo who as far as i know ran a session on hoho's, and a 2011 sti on r888's. i think that the weird rear end shimmy i have under heavy braking is a work bushing issue (hopefully).
Rearend shimmying around under hard braking is your FRONT control arm bushings. Had the same problem, went solid up front, car is way more stable.

I have only used a HF press for my bushings. Works perfect fine. Not even a 12 ton one.

Nate, what's ridiculous? I paid a shop installs RCK as well at cylindrical bushings and I don't think I paid more than $125-150 for labor (I provided parts).

nate, try a less aggressive rear pad, could be your rear abs kicking in.

not sure it can get much less aggressive than stoptech streets without going to stock pads.

I would say check bushing and alignment next then

Buy the bigger one from harbor freight. That's what I use works great. Can use sockets, pipe, etc to use as dies. And don't listen to retardmonkey about rear pads he doesn't even know what abs is

Dont mean to troll but I was actually searching for info regarding people's experience with the HF 12 ton press for bushings and I found myself here. A couple of you know me and to the others that do not, hello my name is Eric and I drive an evo so we can be friends...maybe.

Nate- I just purchased the 12 ton press over the weekend as Im currently stockpiling bushings. I went in to buy the 20 ton but it was massive so I opted for its little brother the 12 ton. Im hoping itll do the trick. If you are around MA you are more than welcome to stop by and use it.
