My bad luck strikes again. Sit for an hour an a half waiting for an alignment just to see the inal print out and notice the tech did -0.3 not -3 degrees of camber. Now back to waiting...

Damn that sucks...hopefully they didnt make you pay for two alignments. I take it you went to a chain alignment shop?

didnt have to pay for 2, they threw it back on the rack to fix it since it was the fault of the manager who was telling me stories about how he supposedly used to race SCCA with his eclipse...

my alignment saga continued tho...

5 minutes after putting it back on the rack the tech came back out and said even with the camber plates maxed out he could only get -1.6 on one side and -2.5 on the other...and then the light bulb went off. my camber bolts were set to the min setting not max...fahk.

but back up a second. he said even maxed he couldnt get the -2.8 that the shop that i used last year claimed it was set to (they certainly werent set to max)....awesome. so it looks like ive been eating tires because the toe was way out because the last shops high end rack was way out of calibration or something crazy.

spent a half hour flipping the camber bolts and now have super mega stanced camber on the drivers and a decent amount on the pass side. according to my iphone level its like -3.5 on pass side and -6ish on the drivers with plates maxxed out. now i have to try and find time to go back to the shop and get it dialed back in...

if i had any guranteed way to dial in the measurements at home id do it...

2 things and I dont mean to sound like a Monday morning quarterback. 1- should have never sold that Smart Camber gauge I almost bought off you. 2-Find a shop who is familiar with evos and suspension tuning. Adjusting camber with plates is pretty elementary.

Nate, that's ridiculous. We are really spoiled with some of the shops around here. I was just talking to a friend about getting an alignment at RT Tuning in Lansdale. You tell them what you want, they say ok, you give them your keys, you pay for services. No belly aching or mistakes.

i ditched the gauge because i thought i was failing miserably at leveling my floor/using the gauge but now it turns out the baseline i was trying to reach (the -2.8) was probably never actually right, so i more than likely had the gauge set up correctly. kicking myself on that one...oh well.

im not really mad about today, the shop was fine (it is a chain obviously) the redo was simply a miscommunication, it happens. what im livid about now is how royally boned i got by the last shop. if you recall they damaged my brand new camber plates, stripped the allen head screws and now apparently never even got it set right but somehow got a print out that said so. honestly it could have happened due to them not tightening the bolts right and my dad driving it 200 miles before we found that.

the bolt mistake is all on me.

i had planned to use either kaizen or that apex shop in mass, but my shcedule is tight before CTD and i didnt want to spend a big sum (kaizen aint cheap) when im just gonna hev to redo it in the spring after i swap the control arms and such. i just wanna get the front sorted and now i should be able to if i can get back to the shop i used today.

i doubt i have time to order another tool, level my floor and align it before i have to leave for ctd.

did you have to do any floor leveling or just use it wherever, since it claims it can be adjusted for the floor. my main concern is obviously toe, and between one more alignment for this whole deal plus the spring will probably total the cost of the tool anyway.

my one shession one sunday that the camera didn't did cut off. camera cut off every shession on saturday and sunday except for this one. the vibration from the curbing makes the usb power adapter pop off and cut the video off.

i love exiting turn one, the car seems to power oversteer nicely. i can hold a pretty good drift through there, some of the longest i've done in the car but missed the videos all the good one.
