Anyone use Transitowne Mitsu in Williamsville NY?

My 2011 GSR just threw a P0017 and U0167 code today...

I have mods on the car (see sig) and pretty sure they won't cover the timing chain (if that is the issue) under warranty. Just trying to find out if they are fair in price for out of warranty work or if they are just like any other stealership by overcharging.

Would I be better off to take to a private shop? If so, where would you recommend?

Thanks all

DO NOT GO THERE! take the car to STM out in Rochester. Pm me and I'll give you my cell number. Transit Towne is probably one of the worst dealerships I've ever dealt with to be completely honest

Hey Chris, Thanks for the heads up. I emailed STM about it but I did take it in to Transitowne to see exactly what the code was. Luckily my chain is fine but I think that's all they checked. Not sure if they checked the oil valves that could be faulty. But they said that my ECU is fried and that's why it's throwing a code...

If your Ecu was bricked the car wouldn't even run. Your best bet is to call the shop and set up something with Brian for the guys to check it out.

Yeah the service dept guy was trying to push me in to getting a new ECM. Tried to lecture me about how reflashing your ECU is big trouble. : the car runs fine and it also idles like nothing is wrong. I will get the STM guys to take a look.

They're your best bet. The wealth of knowledge there runs deep. If you get there in the next week or so my car might still be there. I blew up the rear diff when I broke the stock turbo X record lol
