NYS inspection, 02 Sensors
I went to get an inspection today. It failed...for Monitor Catalyst, Monitor 02 and monitor Heated 02 all not ready...i have no check engine light...and un certain where to go form here last time i scanned it with evoscan nothing came up...any idea on what to do?
If you cleared the codes prior to going to inspection, it takes a while, and mileage for the monitors to reset. You will get a "Not Ready" signal until the reset takes place. I think the actual miles may vary depending on the specific monitor, but most owners find that about 60 miles works. If I remember correctly, I had to do about 80 miles once. Afterward, it went right through inspection. I had the same thing happen when I damaged a front impact sensor, and had to have the dealer reset the SRS code. The Evo just happened to be due for inspection, and it failed for the same reason "Monitor Not Ready". I put about 60 miles or so on the car, drove it right back to the inspection station, and it passed.
Also, the miles have to continuous. That is, I've experienced times when 20 miles a day for three days wouldn't work. 60 miles on the same trip did the trick.
Hope this helps.

The codes don't show up on evo scan or with a check engine light...I guess i can try clearing them even though its not reading them and try going 60 miles and see what happens.
