It begins now.....

My new turbo and turbo related parts have began arriving. Here is some pics of my FMIC that came today. Since my new turbo is a little bigger then my GT3076, I figured it was time to upgrade the stock one.

Tomorrow the good stuff arrives.

Hopefully, I will have some more pics tonight. Fedex is jerking me around on my shipment. All I want them to do is leave the package at the hub, but no "we can't do that until an attempt of delivery is made". Apparently, I am the only person in the US that works 8-5 and can't be home to sign for my package.

The turbo kit arrived....

The huge 48mm, water-cooled wastegate. Makes my 38mm Tial look small.

What you are looking at is the Apexi Isamu RX6B turbo kit w/ a RX6B TCW77L turbo. This is the most complete kit I have ever seen. It even comes w/ an A/C compressor heat shield and thermal wrap for the header. The turbo is rated from Apexi at 560hp, but the CyberEvo makes 750hp w/ it . I am looking for 410-425whp on pump and 500-525whp on 100oct.

The turbo is definitely bigger then my GT3076. The compressor housing is huge. Especially, w/ its small turbine housing.

Still on the stock block w/ just head studs and cams.

Some interesting things about this kit.

1. The wastegate is water-cooled but the turbo isn't.
2. The kit actually reuses the lower intercooler piping minus the neck down portion.
3. The wastgate can dump to atmosphere or be routed back into the DP. (Routed back for me )

In Garrett turbo terms, the turbo has roughly the same size compressor wheel as a GT35R, but the turbine wheel is just a little bigger then a GT30R. The biggest compressor cover you can get on a GT35R is a .70 A/R and this turbo has ~.81. It should spool up slightly better or the same as a GT35R.
