"In an emergency stop in a car with ABS, you should apply the brake pedal firmly and hold it while the ABS does all the work. You will feel a pulsing in the pedal that may be quite violent, but this is normal so don't let off the brake. "

I was splashed with slush that contained a rock over the weekend. My rear drivers side door has a nice door ding now in the bottom.

dang that is not cool. i've been trying to avoid driving my evo in the snow/slush for that reason (and also all the idiots who don't know how to drive in the snow)

if you're serious about snow get the nokians. I've never heard anyone complain about them.
Honestly though, if you're stopping in snow on tires that aren't meant for it, you're ****ed already if you're pushing hard enough to turn on abs.
I do compression braking, and then i step on the brakes as if there was a raw egg between my foot and the pedal.
I have advans on my talon, and some wanli's on the galant and I have zero problem stopping either on ice, I just give myself extra distance and do everything with a lot of planning. It's no big deal.
