Conoco 92 vs Chevron 92?

I've been running Chevron 92 in my cars for several years, but recently heard that Conoco 92 was pretty good quality too. Does anyone have any info on the quality of Conoco 92 gas compared to Chevron 92?

I used to commute 120 miles a day a few years ago, and I found that 76 gave me nearly 50 - 75! miles more out of a full tank in my REVO tuned GTi 1.8T. Seemed every other fuel type was the same though on the low end of milage

I'll vouch for 76 as well. They are the only ones selling anything higher than 92 on a pump in washington as well I believe.

Yep, you can tell the diff if you use anything else but 76.

which 76's have more than 92 on pump? there's one in auburn that sells race gas but they won't let you pump it in your car. There's a Cenex station in auburn which sells 94 pump i believe.

Once again, the Cenex on Pacific Ave in Parkland next to Jack in the Box sells 94 octane. I always see a muscle car or tuner there when I stop to fill up.

Some pumps that carry 93 is due to altitude. Most of the gas stations up in the cascades will have 93 where the stuff in town is 92 only due to the difference in oxygen levels up high vs. down low.

Nope, that is incorrect. At higher altitudes the air is under less pressure, therefore lowering the barometric pressure in the cylinders. Technically at higher elevations you need LESS octane. However with a turbocharger the octane would probably be about the same, so the 93 octane up in the hills is just coincidence.

with less o2, and the same amount of fuel, less combustion will take place which would make the engine run colder, hence the need for less octane, even at the same boost levels.
