I had Lucas tune my car last night and I was very impressed. He was very professional and obviously knew what he was doing. I have a VIII with a 3" TBE only. After installing the TBE I had some fuel cut issues and wasn't able to drive the car hard for about a month. Well Lucas did a road tune on the super flat rural roads of Clark County and the car is a whole different beast now. Lucas was professional, and even took a little extra time to get the tune just right when I probably wouldn't have even noticed. Anyways, he did a good job and has pretty good prices, so if you are in need of a flash you should hit him up. Word to your mother.
I think it is a bit premature to say "don't do a 2.4L" when the exact cause for the low power of the car in question is not yet known. It is new, and hopefully it can get some time on the dyno after it has a few miles on it, to dial in the cams to suit the new setup. Only after doing the final tuning on a dyno, will we really be able to judge how well the 2.4L is working on this setup vs. the 2.0L. Safe setup first to get miles on the engine, then we can tweak/push it a bit. I also cannot speak for the safety of the first setup that made more power, but I can say that the tuning that is in the car now is something that I feel is very conservative and should provide a drama free break in period.
Like John said we really need some dyno tuning to see if we can find the missing power.
Also his 494hp was on Race gas and a different dyno so you really can compare the # even though most of the time I can run very close to race gas tune with pump meth.

Well I can see you guys really have it out for me.
We never took the turbo apart there. We put a good 250mi on the car with no problems and he drove it a good 100+mi home. With the no BS shafts things that were fine before can sometimes vibrate out.
I am very sorry this happend to Chris and would take care of the problem if I could.

So the bashing continues....
I have heard both sides of the story and personally think that Lucas has handled this situation very well. Lucas is a very stand up guy. One of very few I would back up 100% in this industry.. What people need to understand is that parts break when you push them to the limit. If you are taking a car beyond stock, you are decreasing the life of one or many "parts" on the car. When Lucas was asked if the stock rod bolts needed to be switched, he answered that most the time the stock ones are fine (most of the time), but that does not put blame on him for when they let go.
Holyshiznit, here is an example for you. If you asked how much power can a stock Supra shortblock take, I would tell you 900-1000whp. Now, I know you’re coming in for a tune this week, hoping to make 600-700hp. Now if something happened to your engine at 700whp, would I be liable because I told you it is good to 900-1000. I don’t think so, because there are a lot more variables that can arise ( miles, maintance, the parts combo, another part breaking and taking out the motor, the list could go on forever ). With this being said, should we not lean on your engine at all so that if something does happen, we don’t get the finger pointed at us. Well no, because then you wouldn't be happy with the HP and then we would probably get blasted for not knowing how to tune. So, it’s a double edged sword. Everyone wants the big HP, but they need to know that the parts on the car are not indestructible.
The internet bashing needs to be saved for the companies that take your money, but don’t give you parts. Or the ones that do a poor job on your car and will not make any effort to fix it. Lucas has done a lot to help in this case, and truly does care about his customers. The constant bashing on multiple forums will not help you get help from Lucas, it will only make him not want to help, but lets others shops that visit the forums know they may not want to work on your car so that the same thing doesn’t happen to them.
I hope both Chris and Lucas can resolve this outside the forums!

I think the point was missed. No one directly blamed lucas for any damage. If my motor lets go oh well.
What we are upset about was the aftermath of how it was handled. Including the *finished* result.
Also there wasn't bashing on multiple forums. My own personal website is a small local forum and as such has more leeway to say whatever we want. Same as p0s_dS/\/\....
If lucas only has ONE complaint from a customer out of how many then he is doing just fine! Oh well I edited the posts here and lucas and chris are working on it to get it settled. *shrug*
