Honestly, tracking in the rain is a great learning experience even though it's cold and miserable for the rest of the time you are not in your car.

For me rain is a total waste of 150bucks. the track is like ice when its wet. If i spend the money i want to drive hard. Rain is interesting but not worth 150 bucks.

once my 240 is done i'll be out there.

I'm really waiting for oregon raceway to hopefully be ready for us in aug/sept. that track is gonna be awesome.

Im a good driver in the rain, but I still dont like it. Its very slow paced when compared to a dry day.

rain might not be as fun as dry, but it is definitely is not a good reason to miss a track day

It's in Grass Valley, OR. I think it's about 3 hours east of Portland.

Check it out:
http://www.oregonraceway.com/

The site says they will begin operations(whatever that means) in August. I think that's a little optimistic.

tentative for this fall,

how is the weather in the middle of winter?

I'm thinking late spring next year at best.

See thats the thing, i drive in the rain all the time (its oregon). why would i want to do it on the track. awd helps too. to each his own

i'm also unsure they will get oregon raceway done in time. I went out in november and rode around on the track. its pretty big, but if they have pavement they will get cars on it. supports structures or not.

Well I run race tires, race compound brake pads and i don't have ABS. I guess i'm still learning to drive with the race tires and I don't really want to slide off the track in the wet and wreck the car.

I guess a track day in the wet would be interesting but it ultimately means you have to be more careful and go alot slower. I'd prefer not to do those two things.

Rain is the best way to learn. run your street tires in the rain. They work great. Stop being babies. This track in eastern oregon looks pretty cool.

That is phase two. It's wild.

so they already have the course cut in the dirt? It sounded like they had not started pushing dirt.

It would be neat to drive a track that wasn't forty year old asphalt.
