Track Days
I was there on Sunday at PR. Great event and Alfa Club did a real great job of organizing it.
I started in the Novice group since it's my first time running with them and up here in PNW. I have plenty of track experience so I got moved to Intermediate after lunch.
PR is a really fun track with elevation and trees. Definitely different to the tracks down in S.Cal.
The straight I was hitting 130 mph. Chasing down the other cars was fun too!

Looking to get some lap time in too just for fun, I'm not too sure on how to get involved with it though. With the Evo Warranty issues, does anyone just take their plates off at the track with a piece of duct tape over the VIN? They can't just hop in your car and write stuff down, figured it's blantent, but they can eff off.
Eh.. rain is overratted. I like racing in the rain, sorts out good drivers versus typical drivers. You get good at driving in the rain at the limits and driving on dry pavement will be that much easier. Also you dont need AWD to be fast in the rain...its all in the driver.
I used to race a CBR900RR. I long decided I wasn't having fun racing in the rain. I like to use full throttle down the front straights, I don't like 140 MPH rear tire spins, or having the bike at a 30 degree angle from the direction I'm trying to travel in. I race to have fun, not prove something to anyone but myself...
Rain sucks, it takes the enjoyment of horsepower away.
I'm down for track days!
From what I've noticed there are alot of the track days during weekdays instead of weekends. Probably due to the professional or club events that's already booked.
The last event was run by Alfa Club, they were great having different marques join them. I tried emailing BMWCCA and PCA but they didn't get back to me. Maybe they were afraid that a Mitsu might show them how its done?
As for getting involved in track days, just look for a club that participates in track events or HPDE. Then see if they are willing to have non-members run with them. I see many Evos that take their license plates off so as not to get photos taken of their cars.
But from what I've heard from a friend that works at Mitsubishi Design Studio, the whole license, VIN thing started from a private dealer instead of the corporate company
It doesn't hurt to take the 'precautions' I guess?

max try to sign up for the school/track day put on by the iirc (or whatever it is called) there is another thread on an upcomming event. they will give you a class room session and a track day.
Or do an event with one of the car clubs at Bremerton. Most clubs don't want new drivers at PR until they have at least some experience. Bremerton's good because it is a little safer. Not foolproof but safer than PR. Or do a day with PROformance they are right there at the track. Don does classes / track days during the week.
He is linked on the PR website.
I was in the white evo, Marec in the black. He is a good driver and his car works very well. Dam, its sickening when a lessor modified car is as quick or quicker.
In sailboat racing they call it "brushing", we had a chance to go in the same session following each other. I'm gonna have to tighten down a few more screws to get ahead of him.
