Crossed over to the dark side

I am building a Subaru. I have been missing some races, and some meets while building this. I am getting excited with the results so I thought I would share them with the Evo crowd. Thinking about doing the Evo next. It is a 1997 Subaru Impreza. Building it to be simillar to the 22b. Widening it four inches per side.
I hope the mods don't care if I just put a link to the Subaru forums. To much to copy over to here.

Thanks. I am planning on running a 10" wide wheel and tire. But I measured and think if I rolled the quarter lips that I might be able to clear some 12" wheels. It has been a lot of fun, including a little frusteration. My goal is to have the body done this winter. Still need to find a company that acid dips car bodies. The car is pretty rusty, and want to lose as much weight as possible. Trying to be under 2500 pounds.

hey man keep us posted, I have a '98 2 door it will be done in the next week or two; and if your wanting to shave pounds to be under 2500 you should do a nice weld in roll cage that way you can take alot of the extra sheet metal out of the car, behind some of the paneling, mainly in the back seat area. I didnt look at your parts list yet but also all polly urethane bushings will shave a good amount of wieght and give really nice regidity to the the car. If your doing everything your self you should give Garret a call at World One Performance, or Steve at Pacific Import Auto if you run in to problems or have questions, both these guys have really good teams with a very vast knowledge of subarus. P.I.A. are pretty specialized in GC8 swaps and build ups.

Thanks, and yes I use the frame rack at work on the weekends sometimes. I transfered up to Kadels in Vancouver from Salem Kadels. It is pretty cool, I have my own shop there with a frame rack and Chief vilocity.

Thanks for the info. I am putting a full roll cage in and shaving a lot of weight. I have been studying the way JUN and Opera build there cars. Another way I am going to shave some weight is by acid dipping the body. The Impreza I bought has a lot of rust, so if I have it dipped it will take care of the rust and thin the metal quit a lot also.
