new project?
I want to do a new project car... for those who know me this comes as no surprise.
Here is the general outline of what i want to do. Keep in mine the plan is to not spend any money to make the car faster besides replacing gaskets and fluids.
Step 1: I want to find a strong running cheap lightweight automatic fwd car. Reasons for wanting this configuration has everything to do with running consistent 1/4 miles. The fwd and auto make it a ton easier to duplicate times.
Step 2: After the car is acquired i will me taking it to get weighed, then straight to the track to get a bench mark.
step 3: Take every ounce i possibly can out of the car while spending no money. reweigh and return to the track.
(this is were the main goal of the car ends)
step 4: Port anything worth porting, return to the track.
step 5: Stick skinnys on the rear return to the track.
That has all I have really considered doing at this point. Any thoughts on this idea? Suggestions? I am thinking of doing this in a 90-94 mirage due to the price and my general knowledge of the car.
all in all i am thinking of completing the projects for around a thousand dollars.
